Championship game may be unlikely but at least there are still rivalry games

Unlike in the NFL when you know your team isn't going to the playoffs, there is something to get excited about in college football--the rivalry games.
And Georgia's got 3 of them, starting this week with Florida.
I have a feeling Georgia is going to bounce back and win this one. With Gurley and Bennett back they should be able to generate more offense. Florida's mediocre offense is going to make Georgia's terrible defense look average which is all this team needs to win. Plus, Richt > Muschamp. I believe Muschamp is a temporary coach for the Gators who will be unable to fill his predecessor's shoes.
I was afraid Georgia was going to be too psychologically burned out and injured to beat Missouri. And I was worried about the Vanderbilt game.
But I have more of a positive outlook for this one.

Honestly, if Gurley is not back, then we have been lied to this entire time about the extent of his injury. I mean, if he isn't gonna go vs Florida, then he might as well stay off the field and try to get healthy for 2014...seriously, without him vs Florida, it makes no sense to chance him re-injuring it with a Loss

If Gurley were to sit the rest of the season, would he be eligible for a Med Redshirt?
What's the game/snap limit to the med redshirt?

I'm sure he'll appreciate the extra year of eligibility when he declares for the draft at the end of next season.

He has a high ankle sprain, those are no joke.

This is idiotic. He damn sure isn't staying 4 years, and I'm pretty sure January-September is plenty enough time for him to get healthy. He's by far the best RB we have, if he's healthy enough to give us a chance to beat AU, GT and bowl opponent, then you play him.

I imagine both will play, but I doubt Gurley is 100%. Bennett should be good to go. Conley and JHC are still out from what I remember. Matthews has a chance.

Good thread SS,
I am all with you on the 'old school outlook and prognosis.
I remember when UGA was the team other schools hated to face A because they were just beaten up at the end of the game win or lose. tReal Junk Yard Dawgs.
This is the largest game of the season coming up (so far) and it's all or nothing from here where the program goes.
If they can't stand up and own a bunch of crappy gators this year then God help us when we face Auburn & Tech later on.

According to Seth Emerson, Gurley, Bennett, and Matthews are practicing. Gurley and 1 of the others have regular jerseys. One of them, (I forget which one) has a non-contact Jersey.
Josh Harvey Clemons looks ok running but still isn't practicing.
Conley is the only one still not practicing.
