Oh yeah they were charging me $180 a month for two TVs last year after my contract ran out. I called and suspended my service after the national championship game. Called back this august to resume service and told them if they wouldn’t give me a better deal then I would just cancel. Now I’m locked into a two year contract which they have breached so I’m going to likely get out of that without paying a dime.

Lack of Bally sent me back to Xfinity.

Bally for the Braves is the single thing I’m missing from when I was enslaved by xfinity. But I’ve also gained a shitload of things I didn’t have. And I’ve never once had to call and talk to a robot then get placed on hold for half an our, then get connected with a customer service agent in Pakistan that I can’t understand a word they say and it sounds like they’re talking to me from the floor of the New York stock exchange and then I get disconnected

Not to mention I’m saving around $1,500 bucks a year. I love the Braves, but I’m not paying $1500 for the regular season. Post season is all on the YouTubetv available channels, baby. It’s about to get fun

Let me ask a question about all these cable providers and such, I have spectrum and that’s the only cable provider here where I live. I’ve thought of changing to other ways to get cheaper tv, but I keep seeing and hearing you have to have cable or internet to get say you tube or fire stick. So I guess my question is, Is t really cheaper? And if so how when you still have to pay the high arse cable price

YouTubetv is $65 per month. You will need a separate internet provider which is around $35 a month. So just compare $100 per month to whatever you’re paying now

Also, there’s always free trials out there if you want to do a test run. When I signed up after a free trial, I think I got a month free and a discounted 2nd and 3rd month. Just do a Google search for YouTubetv deals.

Oh man, you’re right where I was. You’re about to save $15,000 grand over the next 10 years

Assuming they don’t Jack rates once the dinosaur cable providers are officially deceased

Never had a speed issue. And with multiple TVs streaming somewhere in the house at times

Only issue is one bathroom doesn’t pick up WiFi for some reason. So you just have to switch to cellular if you want to check news while taking a dump in that one

You could be right in what you say defending dish and blaming Disney. My experience shows otherwise.

About four years ago dish had a dispute with Sports South and removed the Braves from TV. As of today, that dispute continues even though Bally Sports bought Sports South. Neither of those two organizations could successfully return their channels to dish.

Last year dish had another dispute with a group that owned several TV stations. One of those stations was our local CBS affiliate. Once again the channel was removed. Once again we had to go to friends' homes to watch the Bulldogs.

Now you claim this dispute between dish and Disney is all Disney's fault. As stated in the first paragraph, you could be right. However, history shows that dish has done with two other media organizations the same thing that is now going on with ESPN through Disney.

My money is on dish being the problem.

Yup, love Youtubetv.

Have used FUBO recently also, its $75/month if you like a lotta Premiere league/Latin/Euro soccer and Motorsports.

The youtubetv homescreen is so much easier to navigate than FUBO tho...

If you have ATT Fiber in your neighborhood, that's the base price for the "slow" plan (350mbps) which is still the fastest internet I ever had. When you tack on the fees and whatnot, it's more like $50/m. And that's the introductory plan, I'm sure it will get jacked up later.

How about the new Fansville commercials yesterday making fun of the shitty streaming smarttv remotes?

“Caps Lock is still on, man!!!”

That one is funny

As JD said... as long as you don't want to watch Braves or Hawks games, paying separate for YTTV and internet is a no-brainer. One thing I don't like is they don't have "channel numbers" so you can't just type in 123 and jump to channel 123. You have to scroll there, or have it saved in some kind of favorites which I never took the time to figure out, or search for the network awkwardly in the search feature. My favorite thing about YTTV, ironically, was when I decided to cancel it. It was the easiest cancellation process I have ever gone through in my life. I clicked one button to cancel, another button to confirm, a splash screen comes up with a one single question survey for why you are cancelling, and it's done. And you get it for the rest of the month you cancel in.

There’s actually a world out there beyond atlanta though

$64.99 for YouTubetv
$34.99 for internet

Total.

It certainly wasn't for the Hawks in the playoffs last season. I was even paying extra for the YTTV NBA+ Package and still couldnt watch the Hawks in the playoffs. If my IP was in, say, Omaha, it probably would have come through. But because my IP is in the regional market Bally owns the rights for, I get the "sorry, go frick yourself" message. If the Hawks regress to the mean, and I stop giving a shite (I'm an admitted fair weather Hawks fan) then I will probably switch back to YTTV.

Its crazy these leagues agree to this. Id pay monthly for a Ballys app to watch Braves. Instead theyre a bargaining chip for the great reset

It's my understanding, it's the owners, not the NBA, that sign these. I remember the sports radio people in ATL bitching about this being a Hawks owners deal with Bally, not an NBA deal. In the case of the Hawks, the owners are hedge fund managers and one of their wives, an actress, the one who played the main girl in The Lost Boys, and left wing activist. I think the league owns the rights outside of the regional area of each team, but the franchise owners still own the rights within their designated markets and can make whatever deals they want for those regional rights.
