We’ve scored 30 points once against Saban, have to score more points if you want to beat Bama

We get another chance next year. I hope we have more beef - current guys developing more in off season, transfers in, and freshmen - on the DL and we get the runs given up back under 100 and can also keep improve our pass defense.

Those 4th and prayers killed us. The one that was trapped should have been reviewed.

Anyway, we get Bama the 3rd game next year. Do we have Beck back, or will it be one of our other stud QBs?

I don’t have the stomach to rewatch the game but don’t think it was anything more than their defense played to their ability and our offense was hobbled up and made several costly mistakes. It seems like we were able to put ourselves in good position for 3rd but couldn’t complete the passes when needed.

The fumble inside the 30 and backing ourselves out of FG range were the difference. That and a few shitty calls were enough.

On defense, having two spies that didn’t rush seemed odd because we basically trying to defend with 9 which gave Milroe too much time. I’d have liked to have seen at least one of those guys go on a delay to force the issue…and maybe they did and I don’t remember.

We will always have a portion of our fan base that want to direct their frustration to one guy but in this case they played their best game and we didn’t.

That's 100. We made mistakes in a game in which mistakes were always going to be the deciding factor. Mistakes of execution. I can't fault anyone. It was a helluva game, and I won't say a helluva run, because the run is just getting started.

I liked most of the gameplan for Milton.
Double A blitzes.
Nickel blitzes.
Doube spy.

The only issue I have with the double spy was how the 3 rushed the passer. It looked like mush rush straight down the midline of the offensive linemen. Bama's OL aren't going to get walked back. And we have 2 spies. Milton breaking the pocket should be a win for us. I wish we pass rushed with more if a reckless abandon.
Get more pressure quicker.
And flushing Milroe into 2 spies feels like a trap to our benefit.

I agree…we doubled down with conservative DL play that left us vulnerable to the pass and the run since our guys weren’t firing off the snap.

IIRC we corrected that somewhat in the second half. To me, one of the keys was to force Milroe to make quick decisions and he had too much time to back there most of the first half.
