However, and despite the substandard coaching the team had to endure during Rodrigo’s tenure, the 6-1, 190-pounder was a veritable automaton regardless of how far out of position he was placed.
quote:
Even though his teammates were substantially outscored and outplayed, Rodrigo’s standards of excellence were never compromised. He finished the season averaging well under one error per game, his touch efficiency remained near-perfect at 99.8 percent and his pass completion percentage rose steadily, ending at more than 93 percent after completing more than 98 percent of his passes over the final three games.

For the season, Rodrigo was dispossessed only once for a grand total of two for the entire three seasons of varsity competition.

his teammates rarely capitalized on the long bombs deep into the attacking half.

Wow even attacking his teammates. His gripe fest that i read on dawgnation makes it look as if Kirby was prepared for everything that was going to come. It's time to run Rodrigo off.
Poor kid, his daddy is gonna ruin everything good in his life. The whole helmet/interview thing seemed funny at the time but this kinda ruins it for me because the attitude of the family.

I wouldn't go that far. No scholarship for sure though. I feel bad for Rodrigo, but UGA can't have this.

I've never seen a daddy like this not infect his son with similar stuff. It's a cancer and it will grow until we either cut it loose or it creates division on the team.

Kirby can't set that precedent that players or their families dictate how he runs the team and who gets what..
Posted on 1/5/17 at 4:22 pm to LedDawgK
or else parents will come out of the woodwork...throw to my baby...hand it off to boobie. If selfish desires come before the team and Kirby allows it the team will collapse and never accomplish anything.
Did Kirby offer a Scholly to Marshall Long last year? I really lost a lot of respect for the argument when he said our holders were on scholarship. They are both QB's.

Holy shite that guy is nuts. Guys like that are an absolute cancer to a team, and i can't say I've seen a das email all the state media outlets trashing the decision not to give a scholly (that they never had in the first place).
frick that guy.
frick that guy.

Every piece of shite talking he does about his teammates is probably true because sprayberry is legitimately awful at soccer
What he is failing to see is that every piece of shite talking is equally applicable to his son who also sucks cock at soccer

I'll never understand why he stated the holders have scholarships. I mean I understand the point he is trying to make but they aren't applicable to this argument at all.

I've seen some crazy fricking parents in sports before but that shite on that soccer page is absolutely fricking nuts. Holy shite. No No No to a scholly!!! We don't need this nutbag and his son associated with UGA football at all. What a fricking shite show.

Doesn't matter if Sprayberry is horrible at soccer........He is talking shite publicly on the internet about kids that are ranging in age from 15-17. That is one of the most sorriest fricking things I've ever seen.

Oh I know. It's fricking ridiculous, I was just saying that it's even funnier cause his kid sucked too and the stats he has clearly made up for him are literally impossible

wow, this guy is an effing psycho. I don't know Rod's family situation but this is bush league from his dad to write an email to call out Kirby. Men don't settle disputes like this, simply ask Kirby what Rod needs to do in order to earn a scholarship and if he won't do it then tell Rod he can't play football.
I think the kid has earned a scholarship. He saved kirby's arse several times this year.
If i was rod, i would quit football but remain at UGA to get the degree and apply for other scholarships. I'd only come back if Kirby offered to give me a scholly.

If you quit you lose any chance of a scholarship. how about this, Rodrigo needs to keep is grades up and keep hope scholarship. He is a Georgia resident and hope will cover 90%.
Why doesn't dad encourage that?

This guy has no joke been developing his son since age 10 to get a division one football scholarship as a kicker. This is, without question, his worst nightmare (outside of health concerns) for his kid. He's a division one player without a scholarship. It's poetic justice for how big of a douche this guy has been for the past 15 years.

That link is shameful. I actually feel bad for him but his dad is making them look really bad in this.
Actually when I saw it the first thing that came to mind was "Ok, now the rec specs seem kinda fricked up."

Rod has all the leverage in this situation; if he threatens to sit out then Kirby HAS to give him a scholly. Especially since Ham Sandwich quit. Rod turned out to be an above average kicker for us and could definitely mean the difference between winning and losing next year.
Posted on 1/5/17 at 9:23 pm to jodeaux
If he threatens to quit, UGA should call his bluff and take their chances with Wasson or a grad transfer.
No way he gets a scholarship now

I have a feeling Kirby is not going to approach this as he "has" to give him a scholly. I actually think it hurts Blankenship's chances.
If Kirby didn't give him one already, I'm doubting this forces his hand. What is the alternative, getting a guy that doesn't kick touchbacks and knuckleballs the longer FGs like in the Liberty Bowl?

Rodrigo should kick his helicopter dad in the nuts and be done with him. He's an adult now. Daddy should get out of his business. If Rodrigo is backing his dad in this retarded display, they can both do it elsewhere, imvho.
