No. FSU's Pruitt was actually the secondary coordinator. Granted, it doesn't always work out that well, but anything has to be better than what we have now. I can't tell the difference between Grantham and Willie's products at this point.

I don't see any reason why Smart would leave Bama to be DC at UGA nor Pruitt leave FSU. Derek Mason's name has been thrown around for future head coaching jobs. Maybe Clancy Pendergast from USC, Barry Odom from Memphis, or Dave Huxtable from NC State. Honestly though I have no idea. I was just throwing the names of some top 25 defenses.

The buyout usually is reduced by the amount of the new salary. (e.g. $3.0M buyout drops to $2.5M when he gets a $500k annual salary as a DC somewhere else). He still makes HC money, but the new job supplements the amount for the rest of the term.

Pruitt has no loyalty to fsu. He makes little over half of what grantham makes. Throw granthams salary at pruitt, youve got a shot.

I doubt Smart would leave Bama but Pruitt would get in the SEC, where he played(Bama), & he currently makes $540K..Grantham makes $800K. So $$ would lead the way. Just my thoughts on that..

Maybe, but if I'm being honest with myself FSU is trending up while we are kind of stagnant at the moment. FSU is a destination job just like UGA is so it may be hard to pull him away. There's always a chance I suppose.

Todd Grantham's first year as coordinator of the Browns defense under head coach Romeo Crennel was an eclectic mix of good and bad. He was fired on January 11, 2008 after the 2007 season with the Brown's defense ranking 25th against the pass, 27th against the run, and 30th in total-yards-against among 32 teams.

Narduzzi has turned down every non-hc position offered him, he was in running for both clemson and tenn. he aint coming here for dc. Or anywhere.
There is a 3 page thread that covers all this i started last week.

That's essentially happened with Groh when he came to Tech from UVA - it was a sweet deal on paper, but
