Hayes would be a cowardly hire by Brooks.

frick… now LSU opened up. Brooks better move his arse. If they get Drew or McMahon… not good.

I think LSU is about to be under severe sanctions, likely putting them behind UGA in the pecking order.

I got this article sent to my newsfeed. Honestly willing to give it a shot nothing else has worked. Bring on coach Dawn Staley

It is an interesting thought. But if she is hired, it will be very polarizing to say the least. Half will say it's a great, outside-the-box hire and the other half will scream that Brooks and the university has gone woke and will swear off anything Dawgs related.

I don't think most people would care we had a woman coach but we'd be concerned whether or not a bunch of high-alpha adolescent boys (the recruits and players) would respect her.

The most interesting point in that we would be Nike’s wet dream. With NIL we could land some talent. Again, if we weren’t such a dumpster fire and didn’t just win in football I’d laugh it off but what do we have to lose?

Yeah that's a valid concern.

Saw some pretty reliable people saying McMahon is a serious candidate. There was a twitter space with a ton of writers and some most were from different schools/conferences and his name and UGA came up numerous times.

Hiring a woman would be dumb as all frick. There is *zero* parity in women's bball. There was a game earlier this year where a top 5 team was beating a top 15 team something like 50-4. One team UConn has basically utterly dominated the sport for over a decade with practically no competition, and now dawn Staley is doing essentially the same thing. Ncaaw is so different than ncaam it's practically a different sport. It would truly be the worst hire I could possibly imagine. I'd rather have Felton back.

Our local high school team had a woman boys basketball coach. Ended in disaster. It takes a man to make a man. Mommas play a big role but at this level you are playing the fathers role which is absent for many of these kids.

Apparently we just hired the UF HC Mike White.

I think getting someone in place immediately trumped waiting until others wrap up the ncaa tourney.

saw that.

Cant' say I dislike it. I'm actually pretty neutral on it. On one hand, the guy obviously gets to the tournment prety much every year. Has always nbeen in the south and even in the SEC. Proven pretty good winner.

On the other...do we really want a guy one of our main rivals just fired? Or is it a situation of them thinking they're better than they are?

Bottom line in my brain...if you asked me 1 month ago if I'd take mike white as our coach I'd say unequivocally 100% yes. So in that sense I suppose I'd be pretty happy if it's actually true.

After 10 minutes of thinking about it, I'm on board. I like it. But still reigning myself in since it's not official yet.

Welp… I guess that pretty much says it all. UGA/Brooks doesn’t give a shite about basketball. Oh well… Hopefully he’ll be on par with Fox… FFS

I think on paper it's a good hire. The guy just looks like a cheesy dude so I have never thought of him as a good coach. Probably underachieved at UF,but tough position to be the guy after Donavan. Will have much lower expectations here.

I will give K9 stamp of approval.
