We've known montgomrery would portal for like 3 months now lol. Just never adjusted to the higher level.
Godfrey leaving doesn't get much more than a "meh" from me. First half of the season I loved his role as an all around glue guy that could get physical, rebound, defend and score around the basket. But as the year went on man he digressed. A walking foul/turnover machine that wasn't really all that good at scoring...those combined are a bad combo. it would be virtually impossible to not be able to replace his role.
I have to think that somto will be gone soon as well although I definitely do not want to lose him.

Agreed. Maybe we’re creating cap space? I certainly hope we retain a few.

CMW did well in the portal last year and we got Wilkins coming in. Guessing we will keep just a few and put together a portal team like everyone else. Look at the Elite 8 teams….built on portal. Not sure Auburn even has a kid in their top 8 that came in out of college. New world
Asa going NBA, Silas going for bucks, Montgomery going small school for PT, Godfrey going to a conference that calls less fouls and really not sure what Cyril is gonna end up doing.

It's tough and not fair to these coaches, but this is the new world with NIL and the portal. I remember some announcers talking about how young this team was; like to say we would be more experienced next year. There's no next year for really anyone. It's rebuild from the portal every year.

To the amateur eye, or at least mine, Montgomery seemed to have the most pro potential other than Newell. He was destroying people in practice before he became eligible and our players were hyping him up. Maybe it's between the ears for Montgomery, or maybe I just don't know what I'm looking at.

Dawgs land BYU forward Kanon Catchings. He averaged 7 & 3. Only played 1 year there. Seems solid.
