Fall is coming.

But at this point I prefer summer and Braves baseball over fall and semi-pro football. And that sucks.

m most interested in how its going to lookwithout Haynes King and Buster Faulkner. Those two hid a lot of deficiencies within that program. ….They affected games more than talent or culture.

i get what he's trying to say but just kinda dumb. they were the talent and culture lol.

Meh. College football is about to go the way of the Dodo bird. And with that, so does every other sport. Would be cool if we win the college World Series this year. I've attended probably more football games than anyone here besides WG and Tyler, but I don't care to do that anymore. It has soured on me.

But you clicked on and read my thread. Far out

I’m going to post more of them now for all my alters. When you hear them on the soundtrack to your new favorite hbo max series 9 months from now, raise a clinched fist about the height of mid jaw

What they seek to be offensively is “Don’t blow the game”.

Which is wild because that's basically been Kirby's MO his whole tenure except for 2022

Kirby's coaching style doesn't facilitate huge offensive stats because his goal is simply to win games. FEI ratings, which compensate for things like schedule, pace of play and garbage time stats, have Kirby's offenses ranked like this nationally:

2016 #68
2017 #3
2018 #3
2019 #18
2020 #25
2021 #3
2022 #1
2023 #3
2024 #13
2025 #9

The only bad year was 2016 with a true freshman Eason and a brand new staff. The Coley season was hard to watch (and some guy managed to divide the locker room), and 2020 was a QB scramble Covid season. 2025 was efficient, but predictable and lacked explosiveness. Hopefully that improves.

Kirby's offense has faltered in some big games (Georgia's played a lot of big games), as does every other offense, and injuries sometimes played a role there. He also takes his foot off the pedal when the game is in hand, but they've usually played very efficient football while the outcome is in doubt.

This is a big deal IMO. There weren’t a lot of games where we had to press. CKS is pretty damn good at figuring out how many possessions a team has to score to win and then gaming to squeeze the clock to make it impossible.

Yep. Then you contrast that with clowns like Heupel at Tennessee. He'll still be throwing downfield and running a play every 20 seconds during the 4th quarter against some FCS nobody. It's good for padding stats, but it won't win championships in a 16 game season.

Yeah this shite sucks man. At least we got two Natty's before they completely ruined it.

I've said it before but just rip the bandaid off at this point and make this version of "college football" a pro league, and set up a volunteer football team made of students that can play other, local universities at the club level and stream the games on YouTube. I would watch that over this bullshite at this point. Make them sign a waiver that they can split the YouTube money evenly to avoid this happening again I guess

yah, thanks the heavens we got 2 Natty's before the landscape changed. Kirby did a great job w/ the last 2 seasons winning the SEC but we didn't have the right mix to be successful in the playoffs. I'll be interested to see how Indiana does in the next few years - if they can repeat the formula that won it for them.

I don't think there's anything the SEC, NCAA, or Congress can do now the floodgates have been opened. It's basically a pro league now with open free agency.

I'm just going to try to enjoy the season and rivalry games.
