Don't understand what Shep was thinking there. Frick Stricklin.

8 shutout innings with 11Ks for Hancock
He is quickly climbing up alongside Beckham as one of the best to play here

The announcers are talking about Scott Stricklin, but I have yet to hear them say he needs to be fired. They suck.

Have they said anything about caking pants?

King Kudzu is unimpressed with this “Todd Walker”
Schunk singles but Talley strikes out swinging and Shep bats into another DP
Kristofak on to close it out
3-0 Dawgs in the 9th

Fly out to right and the Dawgs take Game 1 3-0
More importantly, Hancock is back in the win column and deservedly so
31-8, 11-5
A fine pants caking. Stricklin remains unemployable in the eyes of King Kudzu

kind of off topic but what is our roster going ot look like next year? I don't really know prevalent early defections are in baseball compared to football so I have no idea. I know that everyone that's a RSoph and older are eligible to leave (right? I think it's 3 years out of HS?) but no clue who actually would.
Glancing at the roster it looks like notable sure-fire leaves (seniors) are Talley, Goodman, Cable.
Notable sure-fire returnees (Fr and So) are: Webb, Marshall, Tate, Rogers, Hancock, Wilcox, CJ Smith, Jernigan.
Then you've got a whoooole lot of RSophs - Juniors that I don't have a clue about.

Schunk will be a top 2 round draftee.
Locey and Elliott have great chances of being drafted in the top 5 rounds.
Shepherd maybe, but he needs to rebound in the second half of this year.
2020 Draft
Hancock is the #1 prospect, Wilcox #4, CJ Smith #54, and commitment Corey Collins is #31.

Next year I think you have
SS Cam shepherd (Sr)
RF Riley King (RJr)
CF Randon Jernigan (So)
LF Tucker Bradley (RJr)
3B Connor Tate (Jr)
2B Chaney Rogers (Jr)
1B Patrick Sullivan (RSr)
C Mason Meadows (RJr)
Pitchers
Hancock (Jr)
Smith (Jr)
Wilcox (So)
Proctor (Sr)
Schunk will jump, Talley, Maxwell, and Cable graduate but otherwise everyone else comes back including entire bullpen except Goodman (and Schunk if you count him). Kristofak likely becomes closer

Is there a general "cutoff round" where potential guys make the choice to bolt or stay? I know baseball drafts are long as frick, but if someone is a top 5 rounder are they generally leaving?

Top 5, yes. Top 10 can make them think. Really depends on a guy’s personal situation and if they think they can improve their value any by returning
Posted on 4/19/19 at 12:48 pm to WG_Dawg
Generally speaking if a Junior gets drafted in the first 5 rounds it’s because the club is confident they will sign. Last 4-5 years we’ve had guys leave after getting drafted in the mid-teens and even a few twenty-something rounders have opted to leave. Maybe now that we are winning a little that will change but who knows.

Give up 3 singles with no outs to start the 1st. Follow up with a triple play. What a way to start it
Posted on 4/19/19 at 6:14 pm to SumterCoDawg
Mizzzzzou loads the bases with first 3 batters. Georgia pulls a triple play. King caught ball at the wall, throws to first for double. Runner crosses plate from third, but Stricklin has Sullivan throw to first for appeal that runner left early. Called out. Upheld after review.
ETA: WG beat me to it.
