Man I loved the 2008 team in real time but idk if I’ve ever been so head over heels about a UGA baseball team as this one. Just incredible what they continue to do

I think me and you had a lot of shared (individually, if that makes sense) experiences with that 2008 team so I'll always have a soft spot for them no matter what. I don't feel as personally connected to this team since portal/NIL/modern sports has kind of changed my devotion level to the teams BUT, as you said...this team is impossible not to get absolutely fired up about. When Condon left I figured it'd be a while before we'd have another superstar like him and wouldn't ya know it we didn't have to wait but two years to not only have another "best player in america" caliber player, but we've got a whole lineup full of guys that just produce. These guys can do it all in every different way.

Is Daniel Jackson considered the best player in college baseball or where does he fall amongst the hierarchy?

He’s in the conversation, especially as an offensive player. Roch Chokowsky at UCLA, Lackey at Tech, Tague Davis at Louisville, Hairston at ASU, King (pitcher) at Florida, Grahovac at A&M are all also in contention for the Golden Spikes, Howser, etc

Jackson makes a pretty compelling case as the best though. SEC regular season triple crown winner, SEC POTY, 25/25 as a catcher (first ever catcher and one of only a handful to ever do it). He’s a unicorn in the same vein as Condon
