- Branch walks on 4 pitches. Pitching change for Mizzou
- Phelps reaches on a fielders choice, Branch out at second
- Phelps steals 2nd
- Jackson called out at first on an extremely close play, review upholds the call on the field by default
- Black with an infield single to short, Phelps can only move to third
- Obee strikes out looking on three pitches

We have 8 hits and only 2 runs today through 8. Stranded 9. 2/13 with RISP this weekend.

2-1 Dawgs

Shitty cameras doing no favors here. Had they called him safe, call would have stood either way.

- Leadoff walk
- Sac bunt
- Zeldin coming on with the top of the order due

Finely goes 96 pitches over 7.1 innings with 8 Ks. Only gave up 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 2 walks. Fantastic confidence-boosting outing.

- infield single, runners on the corners with 1 out
- Runner steals second
- Sac fly. Tied game, runner on 3rd with 2 out
- Zeldin out, Davis in
- ground hit to short ends the threat

2-2 through 8

We’ve dicked around all day and this is the result. What a waste for Finely, too, who should have gotten the easiest win of his career

- Leadoff walk for Hunter, Clavon on to pinch run
- McCarthy strikes out swinging on a wild pitch that advances Clavon. Gift sac bunt, in effect
- Alford homer off the scoreboard!
- Burnett walks, pitching change Mizzou
- Branch strikes out swinging, Burnett steals second
- Phelps walks. 2 on, 2 out
- Jackson strikes out swinging

4-2 Dawgs in the 9th

Dawgs complete the sweep!

4-2 the final in a game reminiscent of the dozens we’ve seemingly played in Nashville in football. No juice but found a way to win it.

No midweek game, at Bama on Friday. Need to take at least 1 but 2 could all but secure us a national seed heading into our final series with A&M

Let’s go!!! Let’s keep up the momentum the final 2 weeks.

Again, appreciate the updates. Was at a kids football championship game and couldn’t watch. Enjoy reading what happened

No energy today. But playing Mizzou is lose lose in any sport.

Hopefully we’re building momentum heading into postseason. Nevertheless, helluva job by Wes this year. If this guy can get the pitching, he’s gonna win a NC. It’s just a matter of when. Go Dawgs!

After the weekend, still hold the #1 RPI, move up to 3 in ELO, and have the #6 SOS

While playing Mizzou doesn’t do a whole lot for us, 1) we added 3 SEC wins to our column and 2) we held serve going 4-0 while everyone around us seemed to implode (Clemson, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Bama). Arkansas, Auburn, and Florida are all winning which is keeping us healthy in RPI

I can only assume they’re just record/stat watching and slotting based on comparatives.

Honestly, it’s May now so deep enough for all of that to be statistically relevant. Too and as I’d said yesterday, wouldn’t read into what we did vs Mizzou in either direction - positive or negative. They’re so bad and we looked so bored playing them. Main thing I left with is 1) I think Zach Harris is our closer now and 2) we need Zabo in the lineup simply as protection for other batters. If he starts to get warm at the plate again, we’re going to tear through these next few weeks
