Wasn’t our stiffest non con schedule by any stretch but winning 24/26 games (with a lot of those being staff or midweek) is exceedingly difficult to pull off.
Also, swept our in-state rivals which hasn’t always been a guarantee in baseball. Nice result all around.

FWIW, some writer for D1 baseball said on Sirius XM (Kendall Rodgers) a bit ago that Wes and the guy from the barn were the top 2 picks to replace the Miss St coach...
Said AU coach had deep ties to MSU and that Brooks and UGA don't care bout baseball and wouldn't match a offer...

Kendall also said when we hired Wes that UGA was foolish and unserious about baseball for passing on Justin Haire at Campbell.
Wes is currently 79-28 in 2 seasons at UGA.
Haire is 11-30 at Ohio State.
But yeah, a $45 million dollar expansion to Foley field later with well-founded rumors that we plan to move the scoreboard out of right field so we can expand seating and will build a parking deck beyond left… we really don’t care about baseball…

I think there are two Kendall’s: the version you get behind D1Baseball paywalls and on the podcasts when he can be relatively level headed or at least makes an effort to justify his positions.
And then there’s the kind you get on Twitter or on a larger megaphone (like SiriusXM) when he feels the need to be a hot take machine to elevate his and his company’s brand. Which I can’t argue he and D1Baseball have played a role in elevating college baseball through those methods. But it’s also annoying when you are tuned in enough to the sport to know he’s blowing hot air.

Baseball America has us as the #2 overall seed in their bracketology. We are #2 in RPI as well

D1 has us as the 10 seed and traveling to Clemson for a Super

Seems to me that BA thinks we sweep Mizzou and win the series vs Bama and A&M while everyone ahead of us drops against tougher end runs to the season
D1 has maintained skepticism about us for most of the year and their ranking seems to reflect that sentiment (can’t say I really blame them). I will say that I don’t think Tech gets sent to Athens 2 years in a row and D1 is hung up on putting name brand rivalries in the same regionals whenever possible (us and Tech, Oregon and OSU, UF and FSU, etc)

Agree, that we should be closer to D1 on this, but I believe the NCAA relies more heavily on RPI for their rankings. Could be wrong, but if that is the case, we are likely a top end Super host if we take care of business against the winless Tigers

After bball season I decided to experiement with "pausing" my YTTV account until fall. With that said...I rely on this thread almost exclusively for baseball updates in real time ha. So, let's keep that coming.
