We shouldn’t be giving up 4 runs to that squad early in the game. Relievers did pretty well, yes, but we have a major deficit in our Sunday starter at the moment

Conor Tate named NCAA player of the week after going 12/20 with 4 HRs this past week/weekend

Condon might have come in runner-up. Those two have been great.

For anyone wondering about our facilities, ignore some of the troll pictures, but this thread sums it up:

Yeah, Mizzou is the only program keeping us from being the worst in the conference.
I’ll never understand why we can’t release a public master plan for athletic facilities. Everything we do outside of football is so reactionary and piece meal and it’s leading to undelivered promises - baseball, softball, and track chief among them
We have no shortage of donors, publicly tell them what they can donate to.

Yea, I’m not really sure why this happens.
For tomorrow, last tune up game. Wofford is beatable and #2 in rpi, so could really help bolster our resume if it comes down to it.

It seems to be our thing. We were even doing it in football - remember the god-forsaken partial indoor practice field embarrassment? It's like someone works overtime to help us be stupid about stuff like that. If I recall correctly, we may owe Jeremy Pruitt of all people for helping us get out of the football indoor practice facility rut.
Then Kirby comes in and gets the school to unleash the $$$ floodgates and the rest is football history.
If they just slap a patch on the Steg and keep up basketball-as-usual we are going to descend to community college level in that sport.

Georgia could literally dominate all 3 major sports but we’re not smart enough to do so. Baseball looks decent so far.

Kirby has a vision for what is needed to succeed and his results command that he gets first priority when something else comes up (I.e. the current Sanford expansion to the concourse which doesn’t directly impact the team but delivers on enhancing fan experience).
I know the other coaches of other sports have a vision for what they want in their programs but it never seems to follow an actual pecking order. Last time we had a master plan was when Damon Evans was AD. Everything since hs been a shitload of football upgrades and then modernizing Stegeman, modernizing the existing part of Foley, nothing for track, nothing for softball, modest upgrades for soccer, deserved upgrades for golf, and finally modernizing tennis after losing the premier collegiate tennis event because the facilities were lagging so far behind.
McGarity gets to shoulder most of the blame but why am I having to learn about Foley expansion news through Anthony Dasher on Twitter, including a single rendering of the third base side (there has been nothing addressing first base side or right field) and some public hand wringing that costs are too high (which is fricking bullshite; you have the donors and resource capital to do anything you want to actually do)
Only thing I can assume regarding baseball is that Josh is slow playing Strick in the event that he wants to make a coaching change and give the next guy the creative license to say what he wants/needs

3-0 Wofford through 1
They’re throwing their Friday starter tonight. We are throwing Colton Smith, true freshman

This has been a highly weird, if entertaining, game. First time I've seen a runner called out after hitting a homer because he passed a base runner. That Wofford center fielder's deception cost us a run.
Posted on 3/14/23 at 5:42 pm to tylerdurden24
9-6 now on a would be 2 run HR by Collins that ends up with him out because he passed Condon on the base path while they were waiting for a signal after it initially appeared that the fielder had robbed him
Weird game

I know it’s a rule but I kind of feel like that’s rewarding Wofford for pretending to have caught a ball they didnt

Deception gets rewarded all the time in baseball on pick off moves and such, but you hate to do that to someone who hit it out of the park. The announcers thought maybe the center fielder actually thought he had it. Fooled me, that's for sure.
Hope it doesn't come back to bite us.

This home plate ump is getting sensitive.
Anyway, one heckuva play by Harber and our 1st baseman.

Dawgs win it 10-8, give Wofford their 2nd loss of the season and snap their 14 game win streak
Really liked what Hoskins continues to show and was encouraged by what Marsh was able to do down the stretch. Starting still remains an enigma but this offense is so deep I don’t know if it’s going to matter that much as long as the bullpen can sustain
Cocks on Friday to start SEC play
