It’s 19-9 Aggies in the top of the 9th. In case anyone was wondering.

23-9 Aggies.

23. On 14 hits.

Any notes I had planned seem irrelevant now.

We lost the game, the series, and whatever dignity our bullpen still had.

This team is seriously painful to watch with the pitching we have the rest of the way….

Could they grow the rest of the way….hopefully. Just don’t have hopes right now with the injuries and lack of driving in runs with guys on base.

Need some serious adjustments. Can’t believe we are ranked this high considering the team we are throwing out there right now

Best way I can classify this squad is that watching them is a chore; when we win, I feel relief instead of joy. When we lose, I’m just pissed off for half an hour at whatever ineptitude we put on display.

I think the crux of it is there is no consistency anywhere in this squad outside of Cannon. You really don’t know what you’ll get each time they play. Even Garrett Brown who is generally just not very good will have a game where he only gives up 1 run on 3 hits and delude you into thinking he’s turning a corner. Jaden Woods will come in and you’ll think “well at least we should be able to sit on this lead for a couple of innings” only to see him give up 5 hits including a 3 run shot.

We are ~5 SEC wins away from all but securing a postseason bid and I feel like we are fighting to break .500

This is what a team looks like that has substantial injuries to the bullpen.

Top 10 team when closer to 100 percent in the bull pen. Scrappy none the less.

Guess they don’t watch the games or look at the stats lol.

I mean, it’s great, but how can we be a host right now with this pitching we are putting out there

Seems they know we will get our pitching back closer to the tournament.

I think it’s a combination of our Q1 wins, RPI, and the fact that everyone else is getting even more beat up than we are in the win-loss column.

What has been accomplished is pretty undeniable even if we keep getting reminded of the flaws within the team each week. I just keep waiting for the other shoe to drop on the accumulating injuries and the fact that the bullpen just kind of survives and never seems to develop. Maybe it never does and we will just amass a very respectable record by playing otherwise ugly baseball.

Think you said it best a few posts up…we have a great record, hang around games….but feels like every game is like we are a team fighting to stay at or above .500
