He is one of the guys that could creep into 5* territory, but that is always hard to project.

Emery is already a 5 star on 247 being ranked 16th in the nation.

I'm thinking of Composite. Lots of discrepancy between 247 and Rivals.

Anyone know where Rusty Mansell cb'd Andrew Booth to?

Looks like Auburn judging from the percentage change.

Auburn. He’s been trending that way for a month or so, mainly due to Pappoe.

What is Auburn selling to get all these guys there? There not a rising program, they don't have an amazing college town, not the greatest academics, and their arch rivals seem like the best 2 programs in the SEC for the near future.

Auburn is essentially getting unlimited recruiting access through Cam’s 7on7 team. That’s the biggest thing right now. Auburn fans will claim otherwise, but Gus is using that “AAU” style approach to football recruiting. Also, Gus is selling immediate playing time. They have not recruited well so their depth is awful.
As for Pappoe and Booth specifically, I don’t think either are actually from the state of Georgia. Like most transplants, they don’t mind venturing out. We’ve been hearing similar stuff about Haselwood. Although, Oklahoma is our biggest threat.

I know we all like to shite on them (deservedly), but Auburn is a high profile program that has won big recently, has lots of national attention, and has several really good recruiters on staff.
I think it's dumb and naive when people claim their success is due to "cam" or "money" or pat dye's cabin. They are a top tier SEC program and will likely recruit like that.
Just to keep perspective, even if the pull booth and hold on to pappoe and pickens, they will still likely be around 10th in the country on signing day and finish way behind us.

It’s depth plain and simple. We have a lot of quality depth and Auburn doesn’t and that’s attractive to a high school kid who wants to play like the 5* he is. Despite recent success, we’ve got a long way to go before we can go full Bama and sign whoever we want despite quality depth on the promise that they’ll win big and go to the league if they come here. We’re sitting pretty but not THAT pretty

I always laugh at the money argument. However, if you don’t think Cam appeals to these kids through his 7on7 team, you may want to google the definition of “naive”. Is it the ultimate deciding factor? No, but it certainly plays a role.

Auburn doesn't utilize any avenue in recruiting that we don't. Sometimes, believe it or not, we lose kids, even ones that live in Georgia.
As long as Kirby is here we will win significantly more recruiting battles than we lose to Auburn (and everyone for that matter), but not every kid who goes elsewhere did so for nefarious reasons or undue influence.

I’m not painting Auburn with a broad brush. For instance, they won over Pappoe because of the LB coach and immediate playing time. Only a fool would dismiss Cam’s 7on7 team, that’s all I’m saying.

That's not all that much different than some of these HS coaches pushing their personal team

There are quite a lot of people in all these kids lives who put their personal fandom ahead of the best interest of these kids.
For example:

This is a classic example

I agree. Would you consider that an advantage, though? I listened to my high school coach. So, while it is nothing shady by any stretch of the imagination, it is an advantage, wouldn't you say?
quote:Absolutely. Hey. Recruiting is a dog eat dog thing. I wish we had some former players that were 7 on 7 coaches.

I felt bad for Copeland. That had to be embarrassing for the kid. I hope he took note of who really loved him, and who just wanted to take his limelight. I'll never understand how a mother could have acted like that.
