We're good right now at WR no matter what happens.

Very solid core - But Bama has 3 guys right now better than every guy we have. Mecole has the speed but still is more of an athlete.

Could be 4 honestly. Waddle was an absolute stud as a true freshman.

Not so sure about that. Ridley is going to be a 1st or 2nd rounder when he declares for this upcoming draft. Mecole is a stud, so is Holloman -- we just run the ball too much for them to get a chance to prove it.

They are all 3rd round at best right now. Based upon your definitions, lots of teams have studs.

I guess one of us is in for a surprise on draft day then. Let's see how it plays out.

You didn't watch much Dawg football this year did you? All our WR's stepped up and made all the plays.

So? As mentioned by someone else, we don't have one receiver that's at the level of what BAMA has. Our guys are solid but solid isn't good enough to get a national championship. Our linebackers are "solid" but Tae Crowder and Juwan Taylor aren't going to get us a national championship.

We can't be content with "solid" guys, which is why each and every single recruit we snag is crucial. Nakobe Dean was huge because now we have a 5 star backer.

Ridley did himself no favors tonight. I would be surprised if he did not return.

We don't have a Tua Tagovailoa that can throw dimes on a consisten basis, nor do we have an OC that knows how to utilize them.

We signed a great LB class last year and signed another great class this year. Our LBs are just young. They aren't the problem. Neither is the secondary. We haven't done as well as we need to do on the DL, but Walker helps. We need to be stacking DL talent.

I find it hard to believe the talent we are bringing in is the problem, because we've never brought in talent quite like we're doing now.

It is kind of a big deal,” Pickens said. “Knowing he is a great player and the No. 1 recruit. So. [Jake] Fromm is kind of good. But like me, if I was to go to Georgia, I feel like it would be more of ‘develop’ years. Not just like playing ball ‘we’ve got a quarterback’ but more of like just focusing on myself. I mean I have no problem with that, but quarterback is needed.”

Guy sounds like a first-class dipshit. Pass on this clown.

He's likely not going to qualify.

He's not completely wrong about Fromm. He lost his toughest 3 games this year and there are moments in which you look at him and think "man, I wish he could run and extend plays" and then you remember we have Justin Fields. If I'm Kirby, I think I sit Fields down this off season and tell him he has a serious shot to take the job if he progresses. We need his athleticism badly at that position. We cannot win a national championship with a statue back there. I love Fromm, he's going to win the majority of our games but on a big third down when things go south, we need a guy who can get some yds with his legs.

I agree. Many UGA fans don't want to hear that and they're sensitive to any criticism of Fromm. Fromm still has a lot to prove, especially if we want to win a national title. We should already have one. That's the most painful thing. We had one and we blew it. Did our window close is the question.

Recruits see Clemson replace an established starter in Bryant with a #1 recruit and flourish. They see Bama replace an established starter in Hurts with Tua and flourish. They see us take a #1 recruit and not play him enough to even know what he can do and transfer. That's the worst thing about losing Fields. He never was given a chance to play enough with the full offense to see what he can do. One play at a time to either run or hand off isn't going to cut it. It seems to me Smart has his starter and he wasn't going to let Fields cause any controversy.

Perhaps Fields is a bust and doesn't do anything. However, if he goes somewhere else and proves to be clearly better than Fromm or even elite, then Smart and company are going to look like fools.

Of course me saying all this will piss people off and start the same arguments all over again.

Are we arguing in the recruiting thread again about things that have nothing to do with recruiting?

It's got less to do with sensitivity for Fromm and more to do with not douching up the recruiting thread with pointless nonsense.
