For the record, Niebuhr put in a CB to Auburn. He's well connected in the program. However, he said his CB is nothing more than a hunch so he doesn't really have any idea. His sources said Fields wants to make a final decision by the end of the summer so don't expect this to drag out.

If Auburn landed all the recruits that guy predicts, they'd have a top 5 ranked class every year. Integrity is just as scarce in football news media as it is in every other variety of journalistic coverage, and Auburn's football reporters generally rank among the worst, IMO.
Plus, 247 is the lead recruiting service and everyone, including recruits, looks at the crystal balls now, which means that gamesmanship is rampant. Doesn't mean I'd rule Auburn out though, because they push the envelope more than some schools are willing. Could be wrong about that, but it's my general impression over a long period of observation.

This might be the smartest thing you've ever said on this board. Well Done!

UF fans and recruiting experts really don't think UGA has a chance with Fields. I read an article that has it coming down to UF, FSU, or Auburn. UGA is barely even mentioned in the article

Experts? Like Jake Rowe? Rusty and Kipp were going to submit a CB but they held off. Rusty said he talked to something like 40 people and he thinks UGA has as good of chance as either of the schools you mentioned. Neither of those guys are sunshine pumper either

TIFWIW, but the Auburn mod for SEC Country said in an article that he believes Florida State and Florida stand out the most for Fields right now.

SEC Country = Atlanta Journal-Constitution. No matter the beat of the writer, they're under strict orders to maintain an anti-UGA narrative.

Very very encouraging update by Trent Smallwood regarding Justin Fields and UGA. Apparently he made a secret visit to UGA a couple of weeks before he decided to officially open things up. Trent was absolutely spot on with his predicted class last year, and said he'll probably be putting Fields in his predicted class after he spends some time with him this weekend at the 5 star challenge. He's also saying that it's between us and AU right now.
Also, it doesn't sound like we need to worry about Zeus.

Quay Walker 4*LB just committed to BAMA
I thought we would go after him but for some reason it seemed like we weren't to high on him...

Seems like there were more external factors that contributed to us backing off (his coach & Markaviest Bryant come to mind). I think we got burned by that decision and the fact that Bryant had silently committed to us but his coach allegedly pushed him to Auburn assuming he was getting a job there. At least that's what was tossed around, but who knows the truth.

Besides Zamir, I cant really tell you anyone we seem high on. All the guys I think we are high on for a lil bit we end up not recruiting that hard

I had all but forgotten the Markaviest Bryant recruitment until you brought that up... this recruiting thing will wound ya man.

One of our "insiders" said Walker had some character issues that needed to be vetted before Alabama would take his commitment.
I don't know what he was implying though.
