If we are paying millions for recruits, I feel even better about our future.

If that was the intent, would make sense to retweet with a comment indicating that.

Although, there is always the possibility that somebody wants this rumor out there to use for negative recruiting over the next week and a half. I wouldn't put it past some coaches to use it to suggest that UGA is headed for trouble with the NCAA.

It depends on how ridiculous the comment is. Some things are so obvious that they don't need to be explicitly stated. If a "Scout analyst" actually said that, he'd better have very good evidence and I seriously doubt he does. Just by retweeting the statement without comment, Carvell may focus some heat on the analyst who said it.

In a perception based world, there is little gained by being ambiguous unless you *want* to be ambiguous. Regardless of the level of ridiculous, if it wasn't Carvell's intent to show that he somehow supported the comment, it would have made sense to add a laughing emoji or literally anything else to show disagreement vs. agreement. There is no clarity in a "sarcastic retweet".

I love the rumor, what up and coming athlete would turn down a visit to UGA now

I'm not inclined to argue strongly in favor of the AJC ever having good intentions when it comes to UGA. I doubt that Carvell was overtly signalling that he believes or supports the rumor, but wouldn't be surprised if he's willing to let some folks reach that conclusion.

The truth of the matter is when you sign 7 Five star composite guys (with Campbell), 1 Rivals 5 Star (Cook) and 2 247 non composite 5 stars (Tindall and Walker (potential) these allegations are going to be made. BAMA has been dealing with it for years. We are just not used to 10 5 stars in the same class. It isn’t like we are Ole Miss so no one should be that suprised. Hell, most of them are GA kids or close by (Fla or NC)

Ole Miss was also coming off a 7 win season. We're coming off a National Championship appearance. We also haven't seen recruits coming off visits flashing $10,000 on snapchat. That's the sort of stuff that brought all the attention to Ole Miss.

That’s right. We unfortunately have a rival in East Alabama that is obsessed with us. With Pruitt in Knox, negative recruiting to include cheating allegations will only continue. There are many many more reasons too understand why I recruiting is trending upwards over what we saw with Ole Miss

He's probably just retweeted it because it's fricking hilarious someone actually believes that.

Kirby burning all kinds of Jet-A fuel today. KirbyCopter has blanketed the state. I've seen at least 5 stops today.

All the accusations of recruits getting tons of money are ridiculous. I don't care who you are talking about...Georgia, Auburn,Alabama...whoever.

You can't get $100,000 to suddenly appear in somebody's bank account and it nor raise a ton of flags. Auburn got accused of it for Cam newton, Alabama with a lot of their recruits. I think if that kind of money were floating around the IRS just might get wind of it.

I'm not saying some kids don't get some money, but nowhere near what some of the accusations are. Money laundering is a thing because you can't just have large amounts of money popping up everywhere.

Michael Carvell has become worse in my opinion than Chip Towers. Guy literally wrote 27 articles between the Rose Bowl and natty about whether Donald Trump was going to do an interview. Totally lost. Just retweets others crappy nonsense. Radi needs to have a dozen kids and train them to take all of these losers spots. How do these people still have jobs?

Where is Carvell spewing his shite from now anyway? He's not at the AJC anymore, right?

Possibly. But even church's keep records. I don't know
how big the church would be, but it is highly unlikely. You just can't start moving large amounts of money around without raising flags. I mean....I guess it is possible if you really talk about mafia sized stuff, but even the mafia has people set up to launder their money for them.

As for the "once struggling church"? For that money to make it into a pastors hands he would be subject to taxes, etc. Could it go to a church and stay at the church? Probably. I guess.

Pittboss just got a 2018 OL that had an offer from Virginia to walk on at UGA. That's a helluva pull. Rivals has him rated as 3*. His film looks pretty good.

A lot of boosters will use poker chips to exchange money. A buddy of mine, who was a Clemson football student assistant from 2010-2012, says it happened all of the time at CU. He said a lot of times, players would carpool to Cherokee, NC to cash them in. He’s a big time Clemson guy and loves to brag about the poker chips. Whether or not it’s true, I don’t know. Point is, people get creative.

Um, wouldn't the casino question that?, And don't they have to keep records of large cash outs with chips??

Sounds like a bunch of BS...

I get that. But we are talking about 100's of thousands of dollars. Try going to a casino and cash in $10,000 in chips and see what happens> A high roller they know? Yes. A college kid? Even his parent?

Hey...it's the recruiting thread. Sorry I derailed it. If people on here want to believe you can transfer millions of dollars around the country and somebody not notice, then go ahead and believe it.
