Nice. Saw we had an PWO offer out to a Center/OL from Athens as well... Nicolas Sligh.

Damn sure like that size, 6'4 325 is a big boy for high school, we probably don't need him on OL, if he can develop (add 20-25 pounds of muscle), could be a tremendous asset at NG at 6'4, 350...

It would be Quay if they gave him a 5th star. He is right on the cusp.
He didn't get the 5th star. He did jump up 66 spots to #38 overall though. They handed out 33 5-stars in this class.

Tide - what are your thoughts on Quay? A lot of noise from Tennessee, but they make a lot of noise about everything so it's hard to tell what is real.

Yeah, 247 gives 32 and Rivals gave 33 with Brenton Cox getting the final 5star. Its funny how wildly different some opinions are on players. James Cook barely cracks the Top 100 on 247 while he is a 5star on Rivals. Either way, Looks like UGA will have 5/6 on composite with 8/9 guys getting a 5 star from another site. Not to shabby

Couldn't Walker still get a composite 5* when ESPN releases their final rankings?
Posted on 1/22/18 at 1:43 pm to Prettyboy Floyd
I think UGA has 7 composite five stars unless ESPN doesn’t something really screwy with their final rankings.
Composite
1. Fields
2. White
3. Salyer
4. Andersen
5. Mays
6. Cox
7. Campbell (target)
5 star by at least one service
8. Tindall - 247
9. Cook - Rivals
10. Walker - 247 (Target)
That is insane

That's a recruiting class that competes for Championships.

It looks like Trey Hill got dropped out of the Top 100. I guess he picked the wrong all star game

Was Alpha Dog in one of the days at UA as well as the top performer at any position. I think he's criminally underrated.

I agree. I think he is as good of a prospect as Salyer.

Per ajc, Walker confirms final visit is UGA
www.dawgnation.com/football/recruiting/quay-walker-sheds-light-whether-uga-will-still-get-official
Lover to see us finish out with
Walker
Bush
Reese
Campbell
And Davis or Wyatt
Probably highest rated recruiting class since ratings have been around.

Finished around 75 I think. Still the #2 guard on Rivals. I think they don't value guards a ton. Salyer's the first guard in 10 years to finish inside the top 20 of the rankings, and they haven't had 2 guards finish inside the top 50 in the last 5 years.

Big boys don’t get much love.
Did you guys see how close TOSU is to us now with the new Rivals rankings?

If we add Walker, Bush and Campbell, we would have a number of 321.46. That is real close to that crazy class BAMA signed last year.

I mentioned this earlier, but they also had another player commit to them today. That's the bigger reason why they jumped.

Assuming you mean Walthour. Wyatt is already on campus.

Reese
Would love to see it, but all impressions are that he is unlikely to qualify again at this time... seems to change with the wind though. Who the hell knows. Could be destined for CMU or JuCo... :(
Walthour could be a grey shirt candidate if scores/qualification is going to be as close as many think... that could end up being a blessing in disguise though, as it avoids us having to make any kind of "cut" to an in-state prospect from the class. I think he's got a lot of upside, but he's a project to be sure.
DGAF about final rankings at this point... 247 "adjustments" were laughable... just close out the class strong and let the ratings and rankings fall where they may.
If our final 5 is what AD predicted, I'm stoked as hell...
Walker
Bush
Campbell
Davis
Walthour
If there are any changes to that that involve Bush and/or Walthour and a solid alternative, I'm good. If we miss on Walker, that will suck, but it will depend on who fills that spot. If it's somehow Reese, I think we don't really feel a "loss" at all. If it's someone else, then it will be a question.

One of our best insiders didn't predict him in our class as of yesterday, but Walker was still on his OV so he may feel differently now.
I'd like to hang on to him if possible, but we recruited so well at the LAB position last year that we can afford to lose him.
Americus and I have talked extensively on Quay and we're both in agreement that we'd be happy with him in Athens or Tuscaloosa.
