It was said countless times to get there early and be in line when the gates open. I was in line at 4:55 and in the gates at 5:30. I have no sympathy for the people who chose to get in line late and missed the first quarter.
It's amazing how many people want to walk up to an event like this 10 minutes before kickoff and expect to get in and sit down on time.

Some people were still working on getting tickets FWIW... With my sketchy method, I was able to get in with minimal wait time at the actual *security* lines, but they did close off the sidewalks to get to Gate 1 for 30+ minutes while we waited for a motorcade that never came... that part was a little silly... particularly when there are underground entrances to the stadium...

Dude is 6’4”. No way he is a safety.

This was put on the recruiting board by CapstoneGrad06 in reference to Quay Walker. How accurate is this info?
"He's gone. He didn't decommit after Pruitt took the UT job because of Derrick Ansley. But Ansley took the DBs job with the Oakland Raiders this week."
If so....................

Long term? I don't think anyone disagrees with you... out of curiosity, do you know what position he played this season?

Here is the all-region team for 1-AAAAAA, as voted by the league’s coaches:
Player of the year: DB Otis Reese, Lee County, Sr.
quote:
He plays safety now, but could project as a linebacker on the next level. Reese has size, he is aggressive, he has very good closing speed and his coach uses him in a lot of different ways. He has real value as a prospect because of his size, versatility and potential.
All my comment was getting at was that it's probably too much to read into "only true LB target" as the same thing as "Otis Reese is no longer a target". They're not mutually exclusive... regardless of whether he is/isn't a target going forward.

Thousands didn't get in until second quarter. People that paid ungodly amounts of money.
Dumbass President probably was to blame from some of that, if not most of it.

He doesn't have the right to go to the game? Boy oh boy, lets not turn this into something political.

Ah, okay. Makes sense. We got to the gate at about 3:40 and decided to park ourselves there until they opened it. Not worth traipsing around after we'd already seen most everything between the GWCC and the stadium. We were the first in line at our gate (one of about twenty or so there at that actual gate).

I downloaded mine to android pay which is about the same deal. I think a lot of folks just didn't understand how the digital ticket thing worked. There were a number of people that purchased physical tickets on the street that I think got a big surprise when they got to the gate.

Yeah, we had a guy with us that bought a VIP package and was supposed to get in at 4:30 instead of 5:00 and no one at the gate had any idea where he was supposed to go. They were like, "we've got no idea, you have to talk to a person in a red jacket." And where were the red jacketed people? Hanging out on a wall 60 feet inside the metal detectors just chatting away.

He was. One of the two Gates opened, was closed forever for the motorcade. Ever been frisked my secret service? Thought I was gonna have to get naked.

Curious, but did you witness any issues related to people buying paper tickets?
I spoke to a Bama fan who was trying to buy tickets from us and I informed him of the "no physical ticket" deal which he clearly had no idea about. He thanked us for telling him and was telling us he had just seen a guy give $2,000 for paper tickets.

I heard 98% were electronic from a staff member. No clue to the validity. We knew not to buy them.

I used to work with a guy who was on President Carter's and President Reagan's security detail. They are a no nonsense group, I can tell you that!
He had some interesting stories though about Camp David and kids of the Presidents, etc.

If we got Quay Walker it wouldn’t surprise me if Bama got Reese.

That sounds about right based on what I know. A very select few paper tickets were real. And if they were, they were uber expensive because they'd have been some sort of VIP seating.
