I'm not so sure this is bad news. I think it is actually good news because that means someone else will be coming in his place, likely Otis Reese.

From SECr Recruiting Board: re: Bama's remaining targets
quote:

Bama has 8 unsigned spots left.

Commitments:
1) 4* DT Bobby Brown
2) 4* LB Quay Walker
3) 3* ATH Vernon Jackson
0) 3* TE Michael Parker (blueshirt)

Top Targets:
4) 4* LB JJ Peterson
5) 5* CB Tyson Campbell
5) 5* CB Isaac Taylor-Stuart

6) 5* OT Nicholas Petit-Frere
6) 4* OT Penei Sewell
7) 4* WR Justyn Ross
7) 4* WR Jaylen Waddle
7) 4* WR Jacob Copeland
8) 4* QB James Foster
8) 4* DT Tyler Friday
8) 3* DE Malik Langham
?) 3* ATH Kevontae Ruggs (blueshirt?)

Bolded names = common interest? Is Jacob Copeland on our radar if Tommy Bush becomes unavailable?

He and Wilson I would imagine will be the top competitors for the RT spot next year.

Only guy that is gonna be out wilson would be Cade.

Was told by a source that I believe to be reliable that we will flip that LB that’s committed to Michigan. Said it like it was a done deal.

Hopefully your source is correct, because I think Reese is going to be a stud in college

I’d rather have Otis over Quay, so hopefully your source is correct.

Not sure this is a recruiting question as much as a roster one, but what does our fullback situation look like next year?

I know Holyfield came in for Payne in the SECCG and did pretty well outside of a penalty or two. Is there a chance he just gets the job next year? Would be a hell of a threat in that slot to worry defenses.

Could you imagine Holyfield being our FB? 4th and 1 with Fields, Swift, Zeus, and Holyfield in the game

Always a possibility. Reese looks like a tweener at 206LBS. Maybe he is taking Brules's spot, and Quay is taking another? It would be interesting to see how it plays out.

Haven't gotten to last page yet, but we're bringing Luke Ford's brother in as a FB for a PWO spot. Not sure who else we'll have.

Only way we get both is if we don’t take Tommy Bush or another DB we’re after. So possible but unlikely.

Edit: or if Walthour failed to qualify and we couldn’t get a replacement DL in this class.

I believe we have another guy on scholarship listed as a fullback whose name escapes me, but the fact the Holyfield got the nod for the SECCG tells you what we think of his capabilities.

I would LOVE to flip Reese, I think Reese is about 215 now, at 6'4 and a legit 4.6ish forty, and from watching his vids, the guy is very comfortable out in space and coverage, so he may be a candidate for our Star position. Also, in our S&C and our nutrition programs, likely plays at 230 or so, hope he's a DaWG in the end.

Plus, when he gets to the ball he brings the lumber, he annahilates people, would not surprise me to see him get a big bump in the 247 composite after the all Star games

Anyway, got cleared to post on the GSB, so kinda like a late Christmas present, lifelong UGA fan, love all things DaWG, especially FB, CKS has us rolling, hopefully this will be the year for to win a Natty.

why do you always spell it "DaWG"? Just curious.

Yeah he'd be a huge get. Roquan's 247 profile lists him at 207 coming out of HS. You've gotta prioritize speed for at least some of your LBs anymore.
