Don’t know why I said Hartmann, I was thinking of Andrew Thomas.

Moore has a CB for Ole Miss today .... process...?
Posted on 12/18/17 at 1:28 pm to BigDaddyDawg
It's been widely believed that Moore was encouraged to explore his other options. If he formally decommits, then I'd say Tommy Bush is a certainty.

Not sure how much it was "encouraged to explore" and how much it was simply mutual likely parting of ways... I think the staff upon seeing Hardman develop this year now sees more value in some bigger bodied receivers to potentially help fill the shoes of Wims. We've got Landers on the roster now, but no one else with the true jump ball skill set necessarily. Blount, Holloman, etc are certainly size upgrades over some of the receivers we've had in the past, but still around 6'2, vs Wims 6'4"+ long armed frame.
Originally, when WR recruiting targets were sort of "set", I think there was a desire to make sure we had a replacement for Imac. It's been a bit of an evolution in targets I'd say. Also... Moore had a pretty lackluster season on the field... he'd impressed at camps but suffice it to say, his Sr year was not the breakout most had expected.

Anyway, wasn't '18 supposed to be a down year, talent wise? From what I recall, '19 was the year you guys have been saying would be a potentially historical class for UGA. If I'm remembering right, it sure helps put into perspective the amazing job Kirby and staff have done this year.
Nail meets head. That makes you a guru by SEC recruiting guru guidelines, and overqualified for DawgNation.

Early in the 2017 cycle there were many who seemed to think 18 - in state at least - would be a bit of a down year, and therefore would impact the UGA class. I think a combination of things has made that less true...
1) Kirby and the staff identified the right guys from outside the state to help plug some gaps (RB, DT, LB, TE)
2) Many of the guys in state or in the region that we were perceived to not have a chance with have come around - previously committed or seen as strong leans elsewhere (obviously Fields is one, but Mays, Cox, Parsons are other examples)
3) Some of the instate guys have had lifts to their rankings and perceptions as well...
All in all, definitely a great job by this staff to pair tireless recruiting efforts with a successful season on the field.

I still think overall talent in the southeast is down this cycle. Kirby has just killed it out there by landing the lion share of elite guys. Our east rivals rely on picking up the scraps to form a class. Those scraps aren't as high quality this year as they have been in other seasons.
This also explains why Georgia, Alabama, etc. seemed to have a late start to putting their classes together. Elite talent was an especially scarce commodity, so evaluations and selective offers were the name of the game
That's my take at least.

Hobnail knows my pain (not referring to STD's in any way).
To stop an enemy, you must know the enemy better than yourself. Beavers will train you to trap them. They'll drive you crazy until you learn. I know more about the largest rodent in the world than I should. Didn't see that coming twenty years back.
Anyway. One use for pelts was, when how's got the funk, they shaved them and made merkins with pelts to cover their hatchet wounds.
+2 for Hobs

Fun fact- Olivia Wilde had to use a merkin while filming HBO's "Vinyl:
Unfortunately we have learned that the 2018 Recruiting Thread is rated PG-13 and I can't back up that fact with pictures.
Another fun fact- Jimbo Fisher has a merkin on his head.
