He has no shot. The idea that Eason is going to become the starting QB after where Fromm has led us this year is crazy. It's not going to happen. Eason just wasn't as ready for this job as Fromm and Fields are. Perhaps because he played HS football in Washington, while Fromm and Fields played big boy GHS football.
This is fricking rich man... never change... continue to be one of the bottom 5 posters on this board.
You're going to tell us that there is smoke and that Fields is not 100% committed because there is the slimmest of chances that Mullen *might* be able to get him to entertain taking a visit to UF... but there is "no shot" that Eason sticks around. If you're asking me what's likely or if I *think* he will stick around, no. I think he's gone... probably to Washington due to the way the timing works out and going back closer to home.
But if he has a chance to graduate as of the end of next season (I don't know if this is possible for him or not), it might be of interest to not have to sit out the extra year, grad transfer afterwards and have one year to shine... he's almost definitely going to get drafted regardless of whether he starts again or not (and if not, would receive a UDFA agreement in all likelihood)... his measurables and arm strength are good enough for a team to take a late round flyer assuming he doesn't have an awful pro-day/combine... might actually get him on a better team.

Couple of other front runners, but that's a time away. Won't be around here.

What do you think about JF meeting with Mullens Americus?

the supporting cast isn't going to be that damn good...
Not this year, but in 2-3 years from now....

A Kirby led defense has not lost to a Dan Mullen offense without Urban Meyer to my knowledge
In fairness, a Kirby Smart led defense in the past has had Alabama talent surrounding him. We are getting there, but aren't there, yet. Also, Mullen has not really had the pull for the best Florida talent he has now. he SHOULD be able to pull better talent than he had at MState.

The love fest for Mullen is just very overblown.
Maybe, but you also have to consider....he did at MState what no other coach has done at MState. I mean, they all had the softer schedules, etc. Mullen won when thye couldn't. Doesn't mean it will translate at Florida, but you should definitely see an uptick at Florida over McElwaine.

There is smoke. Whether it amounts to anything is anyone’s guess. You admit you think he’s gone, which backs up what I said, and you fall apart even though we agree. Ridiculous!
Eason’s draft prospects are dismal if he sticks around Athens and doesn’t play, regardless of arm strength.

Read the thread... several pages of comments about it thus far.

I guess y'all are more scared of Mullen than I am. I watched the Florida game this year, and I see our roster and theirs. From where I sit, the gap has widened. I'm sure Mullen is an upgrade over Macelwain, but I don't think it matters

Yeah... I don't doubt other programs will be in the running... just seems like between the timing of their current QB going to the draft and the move back home along with Petersen's track record, it might be a good fit. There are certainly other options out there.

I didn't mean this year or next. I would give him 2-3 year, but at that time they will be tough. I think we will be tougher. Just because I think Mullen is good and he will improve Florida does not mean I think they will be better than us.
However....this is the recruiting thread and we are all going to get our hands slapped if we continue talking about Dan Mullen.
