I think he wants to play defense though

Given that we could still use another corner and unless our prospects getting Brini back or flipping Terrell from Clemson, I say let him come in on defense and try it out at least. He could at least double as a return man

I really wish we could convince him to come in and fill iMac's role. I don't think he has much of a future in the SEC at corner, but he's so explosive with the ball in his hands.

I don't either, but then he won't be starting for us at corner any time soon anyway. Who knows, he could be good in the Star role down the road.
More than anything, I think his potential is too great to allow an annual foe to sign him uncontested on our part.

I have read rumblings about Kirby Choates looking to transfer...LS Trent Frix may not have a 2017 scholarship. Other process/transfer candidates are S. Williams, Madden, Hardin, Keyon Brown, Barnett....it would help if Bynum or J. Davis left but doubtful since rising Seniors. Can we help Chigbu and his brick hands go back to Louisiana?

I'd rather take Stokes as a corner tbh. Williams' size is a major concern imo

I feel like Stokes is a plan C if we miss on Speed/Blades or Brini.

Same for me. Who knows? He might come in and be another Honey Badger, but I doubt it. I realize he is electric....and he might have a nose for the football. But his size. It just scares me.

I thought we were done at CB with Bishop?
We have 3, maybe 4 spots available. I think Big Cat is a take. I'm not sure if Warner is a take anymore. Solomon is an unknown, as is Nico Collins. I'm interested hearing who everyone thinks we close with....
Side bar: Crazy to think, we're a month from NSD and we're almost full. Full of elite talent at that. Good times

Think we pull someone big that no one has talked about. No inside info. Just gut feeling

I would be shocked if we get either of these. Anything is possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

I think UGA signs at least 1 more corner. I'd put Stokes on the same level as Speed

I freaking love this recruiting class so much.

Aubrey Solomon confirmed that Alabama is his leader, but Georgia is gaining, thanks to the efforts of their commits in San Antonio.

I'm not being a downer, I genuinely want someone to explain this to me: can we be sure Kirby isn't butch jones?
Edit: I mean that he recruits like a champ but can't manage a game to save his life.
Second edit: I'm saying that about butch

No. All we can do is what we've always done: sit on the sidelines and cheer when things are going well and bemoan all of existence when things aren't. And right now, things are going very well. So, I recommend you cheer because there will inevitably be another spell of things not going right.

We don't. You'll have to wait and see.
I will say that Butch has been a head coach much longer and Kirby is cutting his teeth.

quote:Really? I haven't seen anything from Stokes on film that really jumps out at me. He strikes me as a track guy who happens to play football. Ameer Speed is 6'3 and one of the more physical corners you'll see, I really hope we blow him away on his visit.
I'd put Stokes on the same level as Speed

Do we need really need anymore? Let's get Solomon and Bryant and call it a day.

I've been as critical of Kirby's in game management as anyone on this board, but our current recruiting class is already better than anything Butch has ever put together. I also believe Kirby understands the importance of the offensive line and getting Pittman (and the following recruits) is going to be a great strength of ours going forward.
I'm hopeful Kirby can learn a lot about game management in his first full offseason after coaching, but we won't find that out until next season.
