If we add Bishop, Rice, Warner, and Bryant, it gives us 303 in the team rankings which would be good enough right now to pass Ohio State for 2nd place. If we add Solomon, it puts us at 307 which should all but cement 2nd behind Bama

How is 2018 looking?

Heard on the dawg nation podcast that we are behind on a lot of the in state too 10 already for whatever reason. Obviously a long way to go but wanted to see what y'all had seen or heard about that.

2018 is not looking so great in state for us as we have already lost on several targets but it's still early. 2019 appears to be loaded with in state talent that we need to get.

Any reason we are so far behind?

Would hope that with a good season we could change some minds

Kirby has shown that he can recruit at a high level, and can flip a recruit with the best of them. I wouldn't be too concerned right now.

We haven't lost on anyone until NSD 2018. So, so much time to flip guys and get them on campus

Exactly. It's like the stock market. You don't lose money until you take the money out. No commit is final this early.

That's weird since Solomon himself said we weren't out of it just a couple days ago. I wonder what their source is since clearly its not from Solomon.

I think it's click-bait. However, I don't believe we get Solomon. He seems set to leave the state and he changes his mind like most people change underwear so I would take any news with a grain of salt.

Right around this time last year Jake Fromm and Netori Johnson were Bama commits, McBride was leaning heavily towards Bama, Gibbs was close to committing to Tennessee, Isaiah Wilson was nowhere on the radar, and Holloman was all into Auburn. A lot can and will change over the next couple of months. We have a staff that can recruit with the best of them, but we will have to go out of state for some guys at positions of need.

I get that, but Kirby and the staff and just got to Athens, so them being behind on those guys made sense.

Just wondering what happened to have us this far behind on next years class. 100% effort on the 2017 class? Performance?

Hell, maybe there isn't a reason. Didn't know if you guys in the know might have had some details on certain prospects.

I would imagine the immediate focus was to hang on to the 16 class and get a strong 17 class.

It is my personal opinion that we currently have a historic class and we're gonna be fine

2018 is a long way off. Lawrence is pretty clear ...why wait in line. But also, it's hard to argue with the success at Bama, Clemson and FSU....that's a hell of a recruiting tool.

We REALLY need a breakout year. I don't remember UGA having a real swagger since 2012. Time to bust into the conversation.

Next year is a helluva opportunity.
