Dont forget, both McGovern and Curry are now out of the game, and McGovern is 3-3 today.

Another beyond stupid move by Stricklin? I guess we will find out.

Ryder maybe your new closer. Blazing heat and a sick curve

That's a K!

Yep, I'm in that picture actually.

That entire '08 posteason is one of my most favorite memories of my entire time in athens. Indescribable.

We have no starting pitching to speak of. Not a single guy was capable of going more than 5 innings which will get you killed in conference play. We need at least two guys that can consistently last 7 innings

Schunk is batting .300 with a double and 5 RBIs. His defense was shaky the first 2 games, but that is an anomaly, imo. Shepard will come around at the plate and the left side of the defense will be solid.

The pitching, on the other hand...

Schunk had a quietly good weekend. Had a big day today in particular.

Shephered struggled at the plate, yes, but he is going to be a very good shortstop for us.

Other than the pitching, I've been encouraged by the young guys on the team (both Freshmen and Sophomores). Be it Stricklin or someone else at the helm next season, this should be a pretty decent squad at the plate and defensively the next two years. Biggest problem is the lack of legitimate starting pitchers. Still early so maybe Locey and Ryder and Kristofak become those guys for us. Adkins had a really good day when he wasn't trying to throw fastballs over the plate (otherwise, pitch selection and placement was excellent). Smith could still rebound; he is the most proven of all of them and had a decent year last year.

I don't know; there are things to be hopeful about for certain but a lot of the same old shite as the past 3 years still lurking around. Hard to say if the old habits will persist or if this squad is going to be able to move on and improve

Is the game postponed? The only thing I can find online resembling a gametracker is on Mercer's website and it's showing 0s across the board as if the game hasn't started yet.
