The renovation they did to the locker rooms and interior of Foley is nice but still lacking. I mean, there's just so much that could be done to that entire space and yet they let it languish away like a nice high school stadium

I remember being at the 2001 Super Regional against FSU. I remember watching Houston Street shut down any chance we had of winning in Omaha. Dont get me started with Fresno State. I saw Rich Poythress kill my college, and Josh Fields just throw gas, and all you could say is thank you.
Hell, if you want to go back, I remember being a kid at the Robert Sapp camp when they had that shite in December.
I have probably put more blood, sweat, and tears into this program than all other Georgia programs I root for. This one is my baby, and I frickin hate that its shite right now with programs like Clemson and Florida hiring the same unknown coach like we did, and it turns out roses for them.

I remember tailgating hard for baseball games. Mack Williams, the cartoonist for the R&B, used to heckle the opposing team's outfielders over the megaphone and it was hilarious. I watched some pretty good teams back in those days, and it was fun.
This sucks. I guess this is what people who care about basketball must feel like.

frick Steve Detweiler and his fricking thumbs.
I miss having a batter that could abuse Foley's short porch. Thought Keegan was going to follow in Poythress's foot steps there but not really. Amazes me that Stricklin doesn't go out and find a DH that can just pull hard right for home series. I miss Massanari and Joey Lewis and Peisel. I miss Jamrock and Warrior and fricking Fergie's Glamorous.
I miss hearing Kudzu Hill in rare form for a big SEC series or regional or super regional. Now, they've got fricking trees in the way as if the program would prefer they not be so involved.

That was the height of Georgia baseball. I was there that night. Tech winning the first game, but us destroying them for two games to go to the next round.
That is Georgia Baseball
Hell, Perno was crap at the end, but at least he knew what Georgia Baseball was.

And the current administration, apparently, would prefer the program never duplicate this relationship with the fans and that only Gordon Beckham be involved with the team.
That 2008 team was the most fun I've ever had following baseball and it's sad to me that what should have been a season to blow the lid off the program a la LSU ended up being a pinnacle that we're nowhere even close to 9 years later

Exactly, Kudzu Hill was known all over. Hell, I remember it being mentioned on tv. That drew crowds to Georgia games, and you know what? Georgia baseball isnt a money maker, so who cares if you lose revenue on 50-100 kids a night? They would get in free to the game anyway.

I can't remember the last time UGA sports were this bad overall. Even our men's tennis team has lost 4 straight... that's unheard of!
The saving grace is our softball program.
Swimming is doing well as usual tho

ADGM has to be on thin ice, right?

It makes me sad to see 10,000+ to show up to Ole Miss and MSU games with these massive student crowds and to think that not only did we used to have a similar vibe but the opportunity was there when they fixed up the hill to build tiered levels similair to what Ole Miss has so students and fans could actually utilize the space. Instead they put up a cheap concrete brick wall and gave it some half-assed landscaping that looks like they grabbed whatever was left over behind the local Home Depot.

Who knows. It has become quite apparent that what fans expect and want is a far cry from what the administration expects and wants.

I will say this, Stricklan was a College World Series guy, and he went to 4 other NCAA Tournaments with Kent State, and was a coach of the year winner.
The problem is the same problem with Mark Fox. A guy was brought in that could not recruit the areas he should(Atlanta AAU/East Cobb), and thats what killed them.

I have no problem with the initial hire; everything checked out on paper and sounded good (Stricklin even had the whole worked at Tech thing going for him). But, good lord, he's trying to build a scrappy Kent St team when UGA resources should field him an LSU, UF, or South Carolina.

McGovern back in the lineup thankfully.

We'll see if this thing gets going on time; rain in Athens until 2

Called it:
Curry to DH, Biggar to C. Glad to have McGovern back. Need his bat and defense.
