quote:

The 4-star linebacker initially said if National Signing Day was tomorrow he’d still sign his letter-of-intent with UGA, but then his words trailed off. He came back with a new answer.

“I’d try to get out of it,” Laguins said. “I’d try to get some more time. I don’t know what’s going on now. I’m uncertain. I’m confused.”

That’s asymptomatic of the fact he’s heard from new UGA coach Kirby Smart just two times since he took the job. Those two phone calls covered a span of 10 minutes.

quote:

“I don’t know if I feel welcomed to come play at UGA anymore. In a perfect world, I wish things could go back to Georgia feeling the way it used to. But I guess this is not that.”

quote:

Smart’s first call relayed that Laguins still had an offer from UGA. He told him to keep “the main thing the main thing” and “not let other schools confuse you” when he was committed to UGA.

quote:

He got a call on Sunday night from former UGA defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. He asked if he’d heard from anybody at UGA since the changes.

“Not besides Kirby,” Laguins told Pruitt. “Twice.”

Alabama’s new defensive coordinator then asked if anyone from UGA had been to see him yet.

“Nope,” Laguins said. “He was like ‘Wow. Are you kidding because you were one of our top guys at Georgia? We thought we were good at inside linebacker with you there’ and he couldn’t believe it. Pruitt was like ‘Bring your butt down here to Bama on the 23rd.’ I guess he reinstated the offer I had at Bama like Kirby reaffirmed the offer I had from the previous UGA staff.”

Kirby has been the HC for 8 DAYS. He has had to hire a staff, contact at least 60 other recruits, travel across the country, and you're bitching because he's only called you TWICE?

Good riddance Jaleel, I guess we'll just have to settle for the #1 MLB in the country.

If we're thinking January for a DC hire, does that make it less likely to be Sherrer?

Maybe even somebody that's coaching in the playoffs.

I'm with you, man. On top of that, Kirby is doing double duty to prepare for some playoff games at Bama. Dude probably doesn't have a spare second of waking hours to do anything extra right now. He's making bank, but I don't envy his current position right now.

I bet Kirby feels like he's back in high school, except this time he's dating 40 girls. He has to call every one of them 5 days a week or else they'll move on to another guy cause he's not giving them enough attention. "Oh my gah Coach Kirby I had the WORST day ever! Are you even listening to me??"

This kid needs to get a grip. This is the problem with teenagers, unfortunately; especially when they are getting so much attention from so many places. They tend to start thinking the world revolves around them and they should be getting significant time from everyone. This kid has no concept of football as a business and doesn't seem to understand that Kirby isn't just sitting in BM reading love poems to recruits over the phone all day.

Wish it was just this kid, but it isn't. It's his entire generation, save a few.

Really? He's a high school kid. I don't think high school kids thinking the world revolves around them is exclusive to the current generation of high schoolers alone.

I'm more pissed about the fact that Pruitt is already poaching our recruits and we haven't even played our bowl game yet.

* Several prospects have said that Kirby taking over at UGA has pretty much made Mecole Hardman a lock to UGA as well.

I thought people were saying Mecole was a for sure goner once Pruitt left. Am I mistaken or did something change?

Maybe Pruitt selling UGA was more appealing to Mecole than Pruitt selling Bama.

Eason is gone... Kirby lost him with his shitty OC hire... Fire that motherfricker now before he does more damage.
