using 247's class calculator, if we were to add brown, nauta, and robertson that would put us far and away with the #1 class...but that's of course not including any additions to other team's classes as well.

It seems like Alabama still has lots of big fish out there, as does LSU. Ohio State also seems to close really well.

If you can overhaul your coaching staff and still end up top 5, I think you can call it a successful recruiting cycle.

Exactly. If we finish top five with a coaching change I won't complain a bit. Obviously that assumes that top five ranking includes an elite QB.

newberg has also been a notorious UF homer for over a decade now.

If we don't have an OC by Friday I'll be worried sick. But as long as we announce SOMEONE this week I'll be happy.

He can't put in a CB for UGA since he's already committed. So that's just him trying to drum up some clicks

Said he did it because, based on what he's hearing, it is likely Eason flips

Seems that Schumann may be a new LB coach, per Chauncey Manac

It was Josh Newburg, not Jamie. Josh is an FSU mod.

As simple as it gets, right there.

Option 1: We hire pro-style OC. Eason is a Dawg.

Option 2: We hire a spread OC. System geared towards a QB with wheels. Eason is a Gator. We go find a better fit for that system.

Those are the only two ways this plays out, as far as I'm concerned. If we do go to a true spread, we don't need to compete for a top pocket passer. A lot more flexibility there, as far as recruiting QBs. And the bottom line is that if Eason isn't a fit for our offensive system, we shouldn't want to force a square peg in a round hole anyways.

So you believe him? Side note, anyone see the picture of Chauncey Manac on twitter with Schumann (I'm guessing that's who it is). Is Manac wearing uggs?

Well, this doesn't look too great...

LINK

Per Eason's personal QB coach, Lavelle Durant -

quote:

Now that Eason has made his official visit to Florida, Kirby Smart will visit Eason on Monday and an official visit to Georgia is scheduled for this weekend, but Durant isn’t sure if that visit will take place or not.

“I’m not sure,” Durant said on whether or not Eason visits Georgia. “I think he’s waiting to see who Georgia gets as an OC and I know he has interest in taking the Georgia visit but after the visit to Florida, I’m not sure what’s holding him up. I’m behind him 100 percent though.”

Durant, who has coached several big time quarterbacks, told Gator Country what he would do if he was in Eason’s shoes right now.

“If I was in Jacob’s shoes, I would be leaning heavily on Florida,” Durant said. “They have such good history with quarterbacks, plus they have McElwain and Nussmeier on the same team. That’s awesome right there, plus the quarterback competition is wide open as we can all see.

I don't know. Kind of premature of him to do it before Kirby visits, IMO

He also said that UF has a history of putting out great quarterbacks and that Mac is a QB whisperer.

What great pro style quarterbacks has Florida produced recently? And did Treon Harris look like he had been coached by one of the greats?

After looking up some of the dude's other interviews, he sounds like he blows smoke up the arse of whoever is interviewing him. After the UF visit, the same guy said Georgia fans shouldn't worry, and that Eason is committed to the program and all of his fellow commits rather than Richt.

He sounds like he is scraping all the publicity he can out of this situation.

Sounds like he's trying to get as much publicity out of this that he can. I can't say I blame him

Hey, I'm Lavelle Durant and I developed the #2 qb in the nation.

I was wondering the same thing..outside of Spurrier who coached good QBs there?
