DCHS hasn't been worth a crap since the late 80s. Remember having to try and kick out Norman Cowins every time we ran an off tackle play in our 86 region championship game. Hardest guy I ever had to block. He was all muscled up and I was 180lb pulling guard. It was like running into a brick wall. Finally, after the first two attempts, I went low and just tried to crab him out of there. Just slowed him a step or two as he would just shove me down into the ground, leap over me to pursue the ball.
Alexander opening up late 80s hurt them a good bit but they still managed to beat SW Dekalb in the 88 playoffs. Just fell off after that and really don't have the feeder system in place to get them back to relevance. Plenty of talent around there...just no system.

They had a few good years in the 2000s. Ricky Dobbs is one the best players I've ever seen. But you're right, their lack of a feeder system kills that county. They refuse to go to junior programs and simply rely on their middle schools.
