Georgia should tell him if he wants to play for Georgia we will take him. In the end it's one damn scholarship out of 85 and we have played with less than 85 the last couple of years, no way one scholarship hurts.

Yeah, we all know that's a load of bullshite. I bet if we told him TODAY we want 2 TEs he would commit to us June 4.
Maybe we did....

Radi Nabulsi
@RadiNabulsi: Booker T. Washington star LB Matthew Thomas wants release from FSU scholarship - so he can sign with #UGA or #USC
ETA: Anyone know the issues he's having with FSU? Or did he just feel like he was pressured into signing with them?

Would be so sick to all of the sudden land the #1 OLB and top 10 overall prospect from last signing class in May! Early, early Christmas present.
And I love what Davin tweeted, dallas

anyone know what his issue is with fsu
I heard that he just got pressured into picking a school close to home, other than UM. Rumor is that he wanted to go to usc, but it was too far away for his family and he thought fsu would be a fit for him. Hopefully the distance is still an issue and he decides to pack his shite and come to athens.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping too. I'm just going to chill out and play this one by ear and try not to get too excited. Which is hard because he was one of my favorite prospects last year.
But I learned with the Silas Redd situation that if it's not meant to be, shite will work itself out in the end. Redd ended up having a decent season at USCw but Gurley had a much better season and we ended up finding out that he was one of the best freshman RB that we have seen in awhile.

FWIW... & a lotta people here don't like JHD but he says per his sources that UGA is in the drivers seat & the only school MT is really looking at...

Regardless if he picks us or not it's nice to have players considering transferring in instead of out. For years it seems that half a dozen players were heading elsewhere during the off season.

Actually I didn't know it but I went to the Scout FSU board & they've got a thread about this started on 4/25, so I guess these rumors have been around for a coupla weeks

Matthew Thomas...
Will somebody please inform me on what is going on? Rumors that he wants out of his LOI? Is this true?

Posted on 5/6/13 at 5:15 pm to Sanford&MunSon
Highly doubtful FSU grants him his release. If it's not granted, he'd have to sit out 2 years if he still wanted to transfer.

Seems like a waste to keep a kid on campus for a mandator year and make him miss out on playing for two years all because you want to follow things to the letter.
Jimbo Fisher doesn't come off as that big of a dick to me.

I just know I wouldn't want a young kid in my program half-assing it the whole time but who knows.

so true. Get the cancer out ASAP. Especially in D1 where they won't be as missed.

So, what are the rules/infractions dealing with this? Is MT an EE?
If he is, there has to be something against him coming to campus and meeting our staff on a "visit" type atmosphere even if he contacts our staff first, correct?
But if he isn't enrolled, is it out of the realm of possibility for him to come to Athens one weekend if he contacts our staff first?
So confusing but I haven't experienced this type of situation in recruiting yet involving our school so any clarification would be great because I'm under the impression that he has to choose solely based on everything he learned from his top schools in last year's recruiting cycle..
