"Just got off the phone with Grantham. Man we got a plan comin into effect reallll soon!"

Sounds interesting to say the least.

The thing is the kid will make a 50 yarder then miss a PAT the next drive. Hes not bad he just needs to work on getting more consistent

calm down. Kid's a true freshman. If I'm not mistaken Morgan has made 28 straight last miss was against Kentucky back in October.

28 Pats. He missed 5 before that, and 5 field goals. As a comparison, Blair Walsh never missed 1 as a Freshman. The field goal percentage was close, Morgans 61.5% vs. Walsh 65.2%, but we also attempted 10 more field goals during Walshs' Freshman season. Im just sayn it would be nice to have a quality kicker come in at least every 2nd year rather than every 4 years. 20 Points missed is enough to lose 20 games. Hypothetically speaking of course.

No way you do every second year. It would be a wasted scholly. Hell, some teams don't even offer schollies to kickers.

The FG kicker on most teams is the highest scoring player and is highly deserving of a scholorship (granted he makes the kicks). With Atkins and Floyd missing early enrollment, there goes 2 open spots. Another open scholly if we yank Morgans.

It's a waste to have 2 young kickers on scholly is what he was saying I believe

Atkins and Floyd will enroll later. We hit the magic number of 10 early enrollees. Its not a big deal. Them not enrolling early does not open up more spots

If putting up points is a waste then I guess. I think we bet on grabbing a stud every 4 years, but thats just not reality. Gotta have a backup plan.

MM is a stud but he's a true freshmen. Unless you have walkons you only carry one kicker.

It's pointless to have 2 kickers on roster who aren't seperated by like 3 years, have one scholly kicker and a walk on or two.

instead of focusing on getting a new kicker and wasting a scholly maybe we should get our lazy arse HC and co to hire a STs guy. because Blair Walsh went from the Michael J Fox of kickers to making 9/9 beyond 50. and how he do it? i read somewhere that in preseason he was struggling still but a coach fixed one or two of his mechanics and suddenly he's old blair walsh and makes like his first 10 fgs of the year or something.

maybe it isn't all marshall morgan but instead it's coach richt out there with his kicking for dummies book saying "well, marshall, this says you should kick with the laces out, you try that, yet?"

Wish we'd go the Bama route and hire a kicking ” consultant”.

Brice Ramsey is apparently a really good kicker.

With Ramsey seeing time I HS as a kicker, too that could make for some interesting 4th down possibilities - especially if BR holds for Morgan.
