And Liucci tweets:
"At $5M/yr and recruiting home stretch, Sumlin needs to put NFL chatter to rest yesterday."
Not exactly premium insight there. You got that nugget for free.

He's like the sip that bowed up during the Baylor game, only fatter and with shittier facial hair.
Pay me my $12.99 now.

Smokin just said he thinks he'll get the Colts job.

Did he or whaley say that herman is not interested in us?
Posted on 1/3/16 at 1:41 pm to CGSC Lobotomy
If you're out there angling for an NFL job, it's kind of hard to keep that quiet. NFL writers actually do have real sources in front offices.
Would we fire him, and hope he does somehow land an NFL job to get us out of a contract buyout? Or just let this situation drag on day after day because we don't want to be on the hook for it?

I think it's more, we will let this go on becausw we don't have a suitable replacement in line

I don't have a favorite NFL team. However, I will pull for any team playing Sumlin.

Liucci just more or less gave Sumlin the finger in his new thread. "Don't let the door hit you in the arse" was the tone.
Posted on 1/3/16 at 1:47 pm to Roger Klarvin
For schadenfreude purposes now I want Sumlin to stay just to watch goatee ketch squirm.

Is promoting Chavis to the head coach position not an option? If he doesn't want it, they could make an offer to Meacham or Morris.
Something about Herman rubs me the wrong way. Maybe that diamond grill stunt of his, I don't know.

At least you don't think the grill is permanent like some Texags dorks did

Well, yeah, at least I know that. ;-)
I'm reasonably up on pop culture. Even if I don't personally imitate it.
Look, before someone gives me the "Hey, you kids! Get outta my yard" thing, I don't want our head coach blaring Lawrence Welk music throughout the Bright Center, either.
I just can't picture Parcells & Belichick doing something like that. That's who I'd model myself after if I was an aspiring coach.

You are flat out wrong, Lucci is spot on with this and has been. If Sumlin is talking to the NFL we need to tell him to pound sand, if he isn't he needs to make a statement

You guys know where I stand on this and I've been pretty clear about it. There's a bottom line here as far as I'm concerned and really no gray area. At $5M annually and the Aggies desperately clinging to momentum as we enter the recruiting home stretch, Kevin Sumlin needs to squash any and all rumors regarding to him actively pursuing any NFL jobs immediately. I know it's not his preferred method to address the rumor mill every time this comes up but the dynamic is much different this time around and the head coach owes it to the university and the 12th Man to speak out. If he chooses to remain silent, then it's tough not to assume there is fire beneath all of the recent smoke. One more thing about Michael Silver's tweet that would concern me: I have heard from very credible spruces for about two months now that Jim Mora, Jr. Is on the out of Westwood and heading to the league so seeing Sumlin's name mentioned alongside his isn't a good look for the fourth year Aggie head coach.

The NFL is about delegating. Coordinators make most of the in game adjustments. His approach works well in the NFL.
That assumes though that Sumlin is a good delegator ie that he has a vision for his program and identifies quality coordinators to implement his vision.
Sumlin hired Snyder and the McKinney -> Spavital -> Spavital + Christensen(?) dumpster fire could be a case study for how NOT to delegate, made worse by the fact that Sumlin hadn't been proactive in correcting issues as they've arisen.
I get that Sumlin is apparently a CEO coach, but from where I'm standing, he looks like a pretty shitty CEO as he's hired a bunch of clowns that don't work well together. Really the only good hire he's made fell into his lap because Alleva is a moron.

So now he's pulling the "I knew about Mora for 2 months" card

He's been saying it for a while, probably early-mid November. But I realize your hatred is irrational so carry on
