Sumlin ain't going anywhere, though. Very glad TAMU preemptively locked him down, so to speak.

I'll give it a Chavis chance in hell. USC contacted him last coaching search and he politely said no thank you. He loves it at A&M and he believes with his current staff and team he can make the playoff. He may try the NFL one day, but in truth he likes recruiting.

I would expect they will contact his agent and that's about as far as it goes. The contract he signed a couple years ago pretty much locks in both sides for a couple more years and there just isn't any real reason for him to leave at this point. At most I could see him using it to try and get some more coinage out of A&M.

Anything CAN happen. I mean USC may offer him $15 mill a year with 10 years guaranteed but barring something ridiculous like that I don't see him doing anything besides a polite "no thanks".
