We don't have much of a chance anyway.

We played Ole Miss the week before. We had a bye before Ole Miss. We beat them 41-38

Absolutely no relevance to this team or the next game. A&M hadnt won any big games at Kyle Field before this year either. They hadn't gone 6-0 since 1994 either.

Just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of watching Bama going into Knoxville with a freshman QB and no #2 with UT's championship hopes on the line.

Best (realistic) case scenario:

- Tennessee beats Bama (longshot)
- A&M keeps it close against Bama and avoids major injuries
- A&M beats OM/LSU at Kyle and wins out
- LSU beats Bama in Baton Rouge

That's our path to the title game. I just don't see us beating Bama in Tuscaloosa, especially with Knight's limitations as a passer.

This has probably been one of my bigger if not the biggest criticism of Sumlin. Not that after bye weeks we sucked, but why. It fit in to the larger narrative how we sucked at home. How we always played flat. How we never had a sense of urgency. We never came out sharp. It seemed to be a country club culture. Like I've seen Jerry Jones run for years.

And to be 100% fair, I think it has been fixed. I think Chavis helped a lot with how we practiced. I think guys like Trevor Knight helped a lot within the locker room. And at the end of the day, it all starts at the top... Sumlin fixed it. Which is the sign of a great coach.

I think it is much more likely we beat Bama than Bama losing 2 games to LSU & UT.
