This is why I'm curious to see how this will play out. Any other program in the state, and I'd say Strong's philosophy would be a tonic for success. Texas is different, though--takes more than one offseason of hardassing to change a culture of coddling.

By the way, frick snow. Used to want it all the time as a kid, but shoveling driveways is no joke. Had almost two feet of fluffy rain to scrape off the #WhiteWhale today.

If Strong can keep the BMDs outta his way and his program then I will start to get a little nervous. Until then and until he builds some kinda relationships with the Tx hs coaches I see nothing to worry about.

Snyder's an excellent DC, IMO.
His '12 defense was sound, but it was upperclassman-laden.
This year, he had guys in the right spots, but they were too young to be ready to make plays, IMO.

Yup.
Something tells me he didn't really know what he was getting into accepting the Texas job. It really is sink or swim time for him.
