Keeping Spiller in when Ole Miss had no answer for Achane didn't help.

Kansas 57, t.u. 56. IN AUSTIN

Final in OT.

Longest losing streak for t.u. since the 50's.

Jimbo's play calling and personnel decisions continue to be extremely frustrating. It made no sense to try and win off Calzada's arm in a close game when our RBs had started to rip off huge chunks of yards in the second half. Achane getting just 12 touches is terrible.

Is it just me or does Chapman play like he is trying not to slip and fall? Just seems very careful out there when he makes catches

Don't forget Jahmir Johnson and his weekly penalties plus personal foul.

Is it time to bring this back?

quote:

-there is a quiet confidence building in Bright this offseason. Players realize last year was not living up to our culture's standards.
-Our two 202x o-linemen recruits look the part. (insert name) has put on 20 pounds. (insert name) has coaches buzzing and could push for a role as a backup tackle.
-four of our offensive linemen have 13 starts under their belt as a unit. They will be much more physical and cohesive this year.
-I expect (insert name) to be better this year. His route running and blocking have looked better this summer in practice.
-we lost (insert names of all starters lost), but I expect us to be salty this year because we have a lot of "hungry young talent eager to prove themselves."
-11-1 is our ceiling this year if the o-line comes together like we think it will, and (projected QB starter) builds some synergy in the out of conference games.

This. Seems like we cut off our momentum.

Fisher does some really dumb things. Not sure why he didn’t just run the ball

I know we started to run the ball better in the second half, and do think fisher was wrong to not call more, but they did a pretty good job of stuffing the run early on. I think mainly because we were too predictable, we’d get 5 yards on a quick pass on first down and then try running it second down almost every time.

Calzada isn’t going to win us game with his arm. It is what it is at this point. That deep throw to demas was a good one though, he should have caught that and we pull ahead, game might look different if that happens. We had momentum and blew it. The first interception I put half on demas and half on calzada, throw was too high like many of his passes, but demas got both hands on it….

At this point let’s just win the next two and take our 9-3 season and finish ranked somewhere 15-25 by winning our bowl game for 10 wins. Not the result we wanted going in to the season, but not terrible considering we had to play our second string qb the whole season.

The way this season is going overall 10 wins = a top 10 finish.

t.u. went 10-4 in 2018 and finished 7th.

Was the officiating as bad on tv as it was in person? Felt like no calls went our way. Seems like there was no urgency from our offense until the second half

Why did they come out and measure an obviously short play for Ole Miss but a big down for us they think it’s not worth pulling the chains out?

I have severe doubts Calzada can win anywhere outside of Kyle Field

I’m really trying not to melt, I feel like there is zero excusing this kind of loss

Fisher needs to get someone else involved in coordination of the offense

Fisher has faults - he’s stubborn
He had nothing behind King, and that is on him
But with a good QB, A&M is set up to be a great team. He gets credit for that

Is it bad that I'm ready to "get my Saturdays back"? This season has been exhausting.

I’m better off for stopping watching games early in the year. It’s just too stressful, and I have to watch out for myself. I will always love A&M, but will never watch football live again.

Not even going to bother watching the YouTube from this game. Watching TA game thread is plenty entertaining

I see this comment a lot, that we didn’t have a great backup behind king and its Fisher’s fault. How many CFB rosters do you know of that have a great starting QB AND a stud QB at second string? In the world of the transfer portal and inflated egos, all players, but especially QBs, don’t wait around anymore.

Calzada is fine for what he is, a backup qb. He’s not going to win a game for you with his arm, outside of one fluke game vs Alabama his stats have been mediocre. He’s playing slightly better than Colorado, Arkansas, and Miss st, but not by much.

I don’t fault fisher for the QB position, now if you want to talk about why we won’t lean on our run game more, that’s a fair debate.
