I just think it’s a competition to see who can show their insecurities in the most embrassing fashion, and anyone knighting for either is dumb.
I’ve purchased both of their products at different times and I listen to the TA radio show in the am fairly frequently. Yesterday I turned it on and the first thing I heard was brauninger whining about integrity and good of the program “across the street”.

The problem with Texags is that it really isn't conducive to the kind of free, open debate you'd like on a message board. They put out a great product and have amazing access but to get that they have to censor themselves and their board pretty aggressively. Liucci being a smarmy chachbag is an annoying side note.
The problem with 247 is that they'd found their niche as the landing spot for banned/frustrated Texags users and play up all the negative angles aggressively to get clicks. Their demographic tends to respond to more to negativity.
The problem with Hamm is that he is incredibly unprofessional

247 has positioned itself as THE rankings website, and their crystal ball feature, class calculator etc are all great tools. I’m not crazy about the A&M team right now though. They’re all just kind of there.
I wouldn’t hire Hamm for any kind of real job but I do think he provides the best recruiting scoop. Unfortunately if you reference him as a source on anything, it loses credibility, despite his upper echelon track record.
Texags does a great job with media, and puts out lots of quality content. However they’re slow, beholden to the program, and I can’t stand the culture of the employees or their true believers.
It just all depends on what you’re looking for.
Anyway, on a lighter note: we’re on committ watch all weekend long. 247 dropped their internal rankings on a bunch of 19 kids so I’d say that’s a good starting list on who is imminent.

Perroni: A&M targets & where they stand
Texas A&M currently has 14 commitments with less than a week until Signing Day. Here is the announcement schedule for each player as well as the teams being considered.
-QB Brock Purdy: Will announce at 10 a.m. local time (11 a.m. Central) on Signing Day. A&M, Alabama and Iowa State are the main schools.
-QB Tanner McKee: The national Top 50 passer will announce on Signing Day. He has a final five of A&M, Alabama, Stanford, Texas and Washington. His signing won't mean a ton, though, as he will take a two-year LDS mission and be free to enroll anywhere once he returns.
-QB James Foster: The four-star dual-threat has a signing day announcement planned. He will decide between A&M, Alabama, Florida State and LSU with the final two having the best shot to land him.
-RB Charles Strong: Announces at 6 p.m. local time (5 p.m. Central) on Signing Day. A&M and Ole Miss are the final two.
-RB Jashaun Corbin: He announces on Signing Day with the time TBD. Corbin has a final three of A&M, TCU and Tennessee.
-WR Jaylen Waddle: Waddle is announcing on Signing Day with a video. He will decide between A&M and Alabama.
-WR Geordon Porter: Porter does not have a set decision date. He will decide between A&M, Arizona State, Tennessee and UCLA.
-TE Glenn Beal: Beal has a Signing Day announcement set. He will decide between A&M, Alabama and Tennessee with Ole Miss being a darkhorse.
-TE Leonard Taylor: The tight end from the Midwest is another Signing Day announcement. He is down to A&M, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Louisville.
-OG Tank Jenkins: The four-star offensive guard will announce on Signing Day. He has a final three of A&M, Oklahoma and Ole Miss.
-DE Jeremiah Martin: The four-star from California announces on Signing Day. He is considering A&M, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington.
-DE Dorian Gerald: The junior college defensive end will make his decision known on Signing Day. He has an assumed top two of A&M and Florida with Arkansas also being in the mix.
-DL Bobby Brown: Currently committed to Alabama, if Brown decides to make a switch, he will announce on Signing Day.
-DE Joseph Ossai: Ossai has always planned to announce on Signing Day. He has a final two of A&M and Texas but is expected to sign with the Longhorns.
-LB Umstead Sanders: The junior college linebacker is on campus this weekend. If offered, he could commit soon after.
-LB Javontae Jean-Baptiste: The four-star defender plans to announce on Signing Day. He is down to A&M, Nebraska, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
-S Leon O'Neal Jr.: The one-time Aggie pledge could announce a commitment any time. He is unofficially visiting A&M this weekend and the decision is down to A&M and Clemson.
-ATH Vernon Jackson: Another Alabama pledge, Jackson will make it known on Signing Day if he will switch and sign with another program. A&M, TCU and Texas are also in it

I’ve never defended texags as something on the right side of the argument either. Hamm posted a comment publicly that, given his history, is pretty ironic. Texags has nothing to do with it, but have plenty of problems and I don’t support them. Hope they all burn to the ground because I for one would love to see that fat frick Liucci have to do a job interview.

Weekend A&M VIP Notes: Signing Day around the corner
We are four days out from Signing Day, which will be the most eventful one for Aggies in recent memory. Almost every remaining target will be a Signing Day decision. With visitors on campus at A&M and across the country, there is not ton of news today but there are still some noteworthy items.
-Leon O’Neal has made it for an unofficial visit. With him deciding against visiting Alabama, it pretty much eliminates the Tide. While Clemson has ‘moved on’ to a degree, it’s hard to see them saying no if he called to commit. However, I very much expect this one to end up in the Aggies’ favor. It’s a matter of when he decides to do it. O’Neal’s heart has long been with A&M and that was too much for other schools to overcome.
-Despite being very sick in the late week, Vernon Jackson still made it to town for his official visit. The Alabama commit also recently made a trip to A&M in an ice storm to visit with Jimbo Fisher, so he is definitely serious about A&M. There is a lot of talk as of late about Texas feeling confident with Jackson. I never want to discount anything like that because you never know but, in talking to two different sources, I have gotten the impression that the Longhorns are not a major player here. I think it will be A&M in the end but I definitely won’t rule out him sticking with Alabama. TCU has also done a really good job and it means a lot to him that the Frogs were the first to offer. They are a darkhorse that can’t be ignored.
-There was some hope by Aggies that Jaylen Waddle would join O’Neal in making an unofficial visit this weekend but I’ve been told by a source that he will not he headed to town. It is still a toss-up between A&M and Alabama. Bobby Brown did make it, though, for his unofficial.
-All of the expected official visitors are on campus. The two I’m watching the closest are Umstead Sanders and Brock Purdy. Sanders does not have an offer but will commit – at least privately, if not also publicly – if one is extended. A&M has been doing its homework but I think one comes his way. Alabama is still in contact with Purdy but it’s unclear where the Tide stand on taking a QB right now. Brevin White is sticking with his Princeton pledge so Purdy is the lone passer left on their board. Iowa State had an in-home Thursday and, even if A&M pushes hard, the Cyclones are going to be tough to beat out. They are selling the fact that the depth chart there looks more favorable.
-Things are trending back towards A&M a bit for New Orleans TE Glenn Beal, though A&M, Alabama and Tennessee are all cautiously optimistic. The closer it gets to Signing Day, the more I think the staff would take both Beal and Leonard Taylor if each wanted to come.
-Though there was talk of an Ole Miss trip instead, JUCO DE Dorian Gerald made it to Florida this weekend. The Gators are the biggest threat to the Aggies with a Signing Day announcement scheduled. Keondre Coburn is at Texas this weekend so it’s a safe bet to scratch him off any list of potential flips.
-A&M will have a big 2019 visitor today as five-star OT Kenyon Green and his family will be in College Station visiting with the coaches. I don’t expect a decision today, or anytime in the immediate future, but things look good for the Aggies with him. Javonne Shepherd had been scheduled to be there today as well but rescheduled last night to be there for the Super Bowl Sunday event with all the other top underclassmen.
-Sunday’s Super Bowl event will be loaded and you never know if somebody unexpected will decide to go ahead and make the call on a commitment. However, the only one truly on ‘commit watch’ is Bishop Dunne four-star ATH Marquez Beason. That would be huge as he is a lockdown corner and would join teammate Brian Williams as another vocal leader in the class.
-Alabama head coach Nick Saban was in DFW yesterday and the Tide offered a ton of players. In the class of 2019, the new offers are Allen WR Theo Wease, Allen OG EJ Ndoma-Ogar, Waxahachie S Demani Richardson, Fort Worth Nolan DE/LB NaNa Osafo-Mensah, Hebron WR Trejan Bridges, Plano West DE Shemar Pearl and Aledo ATH Jeffery Carter. In the 2020 class, Aledo RB Jase McClellan and Hebron S Darius Snow were offered. Though not in DFW, 2019 Huntsville DE T’Vondre Sweat was also offered. Of that group, Richardson, Osafo-Mensah, McClellan and possibly Carter and Sweat are expected at A&M on Sunday

So apparently Coburn secretly visited about two weeks ago and according to Texas insiders has gone quiet. They are concerned he's flipping to us or Miami.

Coburn was originally scheduled to Texas A&M this weekend. He was then expected to rescheduled his TCU visit. He was then placed on the Oregon visitors list. As far as we know, Coburn didn't make any of those visits.
Coburn informed the Texas staff that he would make an unofficial visit to Texas this weekend. He was on the visitors list as of yesterday afternoon.
We have confirmed that Coburn is not on campus right now.Texas A&M has been quietly making a push for Coburn. There is a rumor that he visited at some point over the last two weeks. We can neither confirm or deny that rumor. I've stated that A&M remains a threat.
Miami has been making a strong push as well. They are the only out-of-state school that actually got Coburn on campus for an OV. Mark Richt and co. made an in-home with Coburn this week. It's hard to envision him going that far away from home, but the Hurricanes are finding a way to hang around.
Tom Herman saw Coburn this week, and the Longhorns are making it a top priority to keep him in the fold. While he's not on campus right now, it doesn't mean Coburn won't eventually make it in. It's also good news he's not visiting elsewhere right now.
Coburn took Texas commit out of his Twitter bio. It's clear he wants to build suspense and keep things very secretive. He is set to announce his final decision and sign at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
We expect Coburn to honor his commitment and sign with the Longhorns. But there are obviously some interesting twists and turns going on, so this is a situation we will continue to monitor.

If this secret visit occurred last weekend (he cancelled a TCU trip last weekend I believe but not 100% sure), I feel good about our chances to flip him. He hasn’t visited since the summer so a trip to campus would seem to be necessary to have a realistic shot at a flip. I wonder how much the Baylor DL coach we hired impacted Coburn.
