He made a few great throws where he should have not thrown.

Also, without Ausbon, he struggles even worse.

Kellen Mond 2018 (without Christian Kirk, Josh Reynolds or Damion Ratley)

Passing: 107-177-5, (60.5%) 1,447 yards, 9 TD
Rushing: 70 carries, 230 yards, 4 TD

Trevor Knight 2016 through 6 games (with Christian Kirk, Josh Reynolds, Damion Ratley, Keith Ford and Trayveon Williams)

Passing: 115-215-5, (53.4%) 1,706 yards, 9 TD
Rushing: 65 carries, 498 yards, 9 TD

Mond as a sophomore is still almost 10% more accurate than Trevor Knight as a senior.

Pretty much sums it up. Just lacks situational awareness too often for me. Just have to grind through the season with him I guess.

Agreed. Tired of the calls to put starkel in whenever he struggles. It’s like people forgot the one play he went in vs Clemson and fumbled the ball.

I want Mond to improve his accuracy more, but the biggest thing is situational awareness. He can run, and there have been times where he’s had big holes in front of him because the pass rush got too far downfield and he doesn’t take off and forced a bad throw. That’s the most frustrating thing to me.

We will see what Jimbo is made of, if he truly is a “qb whisperer” then we will see him transform Mond as this season and next progresses. I do think he’s better than he was last year, but there’s still a ton of room for improvement.

I disagree. When the ball hits both hands of a receiver he needs to catch it.

My problem with him is he doesn’t look off ever.
