Defensive Line:

152 tackles
39.5 tackles for loss

Linebackers:

113 tackles

Chavis has done good work. His presence is the only reason the Bama game wasn't a laugher again.

He deserves a ton of credit, but he's not the only reason. We legitimately have talent on the defense. We're still really hurting at LB, which is why the numbers there are much less impressive than for the DL and secondary.

If it were all about Chavis's coaching ability, our LB corps, his responsibility, would be our best unit.

Our D-Line is salty, we've got talent and numbers there. LB leaves a lot to be desired (talent level, not just looking at stats). DBs are solid but we need some corners to step up next year with Harris and Williams leaving.

Overall we are definitely improved, I think chief has earned his pay this year with noticeable improvements, and I hope that continues into the following years.
