Coordinator Grades (CFBMatrix)

CFBMatrix has started publishing coordinator grades, based on per-play efficiency.
I don't think they did it last year, so it's hard to know just how accurate it is, but here are their grades for Week 1. I'll try to keep tabs on it throughout the season.

I graded all games between FBS (no FCS opponents are included) teams using per play scoring efficiency metrics to determine the effectiveness of every coordinator in week 1 of FBS play. Each coordinator received a grade for raw performance numbers and also a TAG (Talent Adjusted Grade) which measures his efficiency relative to the talent gap between his roster and his opponents. The larger the talent gap, the better his results should be and vice versa.

They grade performance based on scoring efficiency (total offensive points divided by total offensive plays). Tennessee gave up 13 points on 66 plays = 0.197 pts/play, which is great for this metric.
I think the stats you mentioned are important, but it was not a factor in this analysis.
