Yeah, I think tech was the last fanbase to try and crash a road yell practice. Ended up looking lamer than the yell they were trying to crash (which is pretty damn hard to do, but hey, it's tech )

I remember going to Midnight Yell at tu in 1990. The Capitol was under heavy construction, so we were in a relatively thin line trying to work our way to the back of the building. The cops were out in large numbers, but as soon as we got to a certain patch of oak trees, eggs came flying at us in full force.
The Austin cops were obviously not happy to be there. I've always suspected that last minute, Friday night double shifts had something to do with this. They started pulling frat boys out of trees like lost toy balls. Some of these assholes were taking a swat with a billy club and then falling eight feet. It was awesome!

Last trip to Austin in 2010 was not too long after worldcup in South Africa. The stands were full of those vevuzela horns. Plastic horn about 3' long that makes a kind of squeaky buzzing horn sound. Hard to describe but they are pretty loud.
At Midnight Yell about 100 Texass frat boys showed up with vevuzelas and tried to interrupt. We had a big crowd and the band totally drowned them out. Was pretty cool that the band was there that night.
I have found over many many years that the ones that try the hardest to interrupt midnight yell are the ones most worried about getting arse kicked the next day.
