My bad. I didn't intend for it to get here. If it gets deleted, I won't be upset.

I would say Bush lied because of public opinion over time. After 9/11 less than 10% of Americans felt Iraq was responsible. In early 2003 it was something like 58%. That is the work of government propaganda. It gave him a way to go finish what his daddy started.
Can you provide any evidence that Bush directly alleged or implied that Iraq was responsible for 9/11? Because as it is, you're making a huge leap. And if you're going to say that Bush lied, you should at least be able to point to a specific lie he told.

You aren't going to like my response but here it is:
My history professor at A&M made us read a book called "Bush's Wars". People in the CIA made claims that Bush asked them to sway public opinion and give him a reason to invade Iraq. This took place right after 9/11. I don't know if I call that proof, but you can't argue with the serious swing in public opinion numbers. Something shady happened.

The Bush admin constantly trying to link Saddam to al-Qaeda wasn't an attempt to get the US public to believe that Iraq was somehow partly responsible for 9/11?
Somehow the Bush admin had no idea that OBL was violently opposed to Saddam's secular Baathist gov't and had been openly trashing him since the Iran/Iraq war?
Really?

I wouldn't call it proof. If you're going to claim someone lied, you need to identify what they said that was false, and that they knew to be false at the time.

No, it was an attempt to demonstrate that future cooperation between the two posed a threat.
If you're going to claim that Bush lied us into war saying that Iraq was partially responsible for 9/11, I think you really need to point out at least one example of Bush actually making that argument.

The Bush admin felt that they were independent actors seeking to exploit one another. Al-Qaeda is not averse to working with it's enemies if it thinks such cooperation furthers it's larger goals. Hell, the 9/11 hijackers trained at an American flight school.
Here's the thing: after the intelligence services failed to prevent 9/11, I think Bush was in "assume the worst" mode. If you want to say that affected his judgment, and colored his conclusions, I think that's fair. But saying he LIED is saying he KNOWINGLY made false claims. I don't think the record supports that at all.
