I've been meaning to ask, who are the corp guys down on the field? There look to be about 8 of them and are in different dress than the rest of the corp?

The Officers of the Day. They "guard" the field when the band plays.
Members of the band are OD's for road games, amd the regular Corps supplies the OD's for home games.
