They have repeated it enough that it has become "common knowledge"

I agree it's a legit question but saying Beckwith's one of the best in cfb today means very little as the learning curve can be quite steep.
Most coaches would probably go with experience over talent at MLB when they have a young defense (and y'all did last year). Sometimes they are right, sometimes wrong, and I get fans always 2nd guess. But looking at how a guy played in week 10, particularly a young guy that has very little experience, doesn't mean jackshit as to what the coaches were seeing in practice in week 4.

Hindsight is 20/20. You don't build the nastiest defenses in the conference by taking larks on many players. If he had played him and he'd been a bust, he'd have been roundly criticized for that. Can't win.
I think you misunderstood. He did play him. He played him in the opener vs TCU and he looked good in limited minutes. Whereas Welter looked like he didn't even belong on a division 1 football team. We watched Welter get abused vs Auburn and big time vs UGA and then big time again vs MSU before the inevitable change was made.

y'all didn't play TCU. You played Wisky to open the season

Again, Beckwith played every game. The issue was that it was like night in day when Welter was in vs when Beckwith was in. I even remember the announcers in either the UGA or MSU game making a comment on Welter being picked on, or something of the sort.
I'm not blasting Chavis or anything. No one is perfect. It was just frustrating to see teams specifically go at Welter. Dak abused his arse.

he did. I even commented on the fact that Welter was fricking terrible during the game. I'm not saying it was the right decision, but I think you are looking too narrowly. I bet the situation at DT weighed heavily on it

I was referencing the 2013 season. I thought that was TCU...
I'm 99% sure 2013 was TCU. Beckwith played as a freshman in 2013 and then didn't start until halfway through 2014 (after MSU) as a sophomore IIRC

I see the confusion now. I'm referring to 2013 and 2014 in the same posts without any context.

oh, then yeah, you're correct. But he wasn't playing MLB in 2013, he was a backup at DE. They didn't move him to MLB til '14. So he may have looked good (I don't remember that game) but he and Welter weren't at the same position

Yea I worded my post badly. No one was calling for him to start as a TF. It was beginning in 2014 that the frustration began. Well, really it was the offseason going in, similar to AJ/Harris this year. He relieved Welter vs MSU and then went biserk for the rest of the season.

Trying to figure out the best troll name/logo for my TD fantasy football league. This is the best I have so far, any suggestions?

I did "Kibbles and Vicks" back in 2009 when Vicks came back from the dogfighting thing. That was probably my best team name.

It's pretty common now, but I remember a guy in my league in like 08 getting both Peyton and Eli and going with Two Mannings One Cup. We all lost it at the time. I'm sure he found it on the Internet but none of us had seen it before

My best was double Dwayne Bowe, but it's probably gotten all the run it deserved at this point.
