No, I mean in time Elko will get his Jayden Daniels in time. Reed is the guy for a while to come. The best situation is to have a starter rotate out every two to three years. Having a starting QB as a RS freshman or sophomore throws a spanner in the works because they may have four years of eligibility. An exception to that would be a LeNorris Sellers type. But if we had one, how would you know because Reed has two or three more years of eligibility.
Reed is an athlete. I'm not sure he is a "top shelf" QB.
Crown, I'm trying to engage.

Well I’m glad to see East Texas kids going somewhere

I think best case we have Reed start for a couple years and continue to develop each year. I agree, you need to have QBs last 3-4 years for you. Constantly starting a new qb every year isn’t gonna breed success with the exception of a generational QB coming in

As much as I hate to use this to make my point, look at Arch Manning. He has the chance to shine as the #1 QB in the country (yak on that hype) anyway and then he will be gone to the pros after two years. He bided his time behind the serviceable Quinn Ewers. That is the rotation the Aggies have to get into. Because you will not hold on the QB you sign for the year after you start a redshirt freshman QB who sticks around like Mond. You will lose half or more of the QBs you sign. The exception to this rule is to start a LeNorris Sellers type who is so good he has to play. Then he is there for three years and then gone.
What screwed it up for A&M was Weigman wilted under the pressure and never truly performed.
Crown, Nussmeier stuck around for his chance and will have his two years of glory.
