Some pitching thoughts on the CWS.

Winning games 1-2 is so so so so so key. I cannot stress it enough. In the ideal scenario, we can use 3 starters (Prager, Jones, Lamkin) and ride Asch, Cortez, & Rudis out of the pen. 3 games in 5 days is no big deal. 4 games in 6 days is certainly doable too with Prager going the first and last. 5 games in 6 days is a death sentence for us unless the offense goes absolutely buck wild.

Agree. Going through the loser bracket starting in game 2 is brutal.

I think out of the 7 teams on that bracket, I'm the most nervous about FL. They had our number this year and they're starting to wake up. Must-win game.

Florida 2024 is almost a carbon copy of Oklahoma 2022. The only difference is that there isn't an Ole Miss 2022 in the other bracket.

I liked Schloss’ comment in his post game presser about recruiting transfers. Something to the effect of its hard to recruit right now cause you’re busy with supers and Omaha but why wouldn’t you want to come to a school that’s still playing. Love that

I don’t know what I imagined the team of destiny would look like but I’ll admit it’s not this team. But regardless, these dudes battle and some how always pull a win out of their arse and it’s worked so far. Idk how the season will end but man they’ve been fun to watch and I’m looking forward to this weekend

Even the most minor arm injury puts him out for the year. At least it sounds like its not TJ.

I think everyone saw this coming. Farmer laid it out, it’s not impossible but you better win Saturday to give yourself the best chance

Bullpen will have to come through. We all knew that coming in but losing Sdao definitely sucks. Time for Tanner and Lamkin to contribute.

Putting it simply, you’re in the CWS. People need to step up. Now we wait to see who it’ll be

When we played OU in the 2022 CWS, these are the pitchers we faced

Game 1:
11th Rd draft pick
10th Rd draft pick

Game 2:
2nd Rd draft pick
11th Rd draft pick
10th Rd draft pick

And that's avoiding their 1st Rd draft pick starter.

If you're saying Florida is a carbon copy of that, I'm going to need you to show your work

They are of course not similar in any way

Listening to Schloss, we may not be getting Prager game 1. UF has seen him and hit him well.
