These days, I don’t think anything would surprise me.

They say CDC and Schloss are friends. I know that isn’t the case because I know people at TCU. Schloss turned down Texas three times so far … if he wanted to be there he already would. Last, Texas facilities are garbage and so is liberal Austin. Schloss is getting the stadium of his dreams next couple of years. Which he helped design.

It’s as likely as Texas hiring Vitello.

My guesses -
No Schloss
No Vitello
No Sully
Corbin - maybe, he plays Texas small ball very well
No Bakich - isn’t leaving what he’s built for Austin

My guess is they will find a promising newcomer. By the way, any coach they hire comes with the stipulation they keep Tulo

No major men's coach has left A&M for t.u. in over 100 years.

Any shot DVH leaves for TU? Seems like Arky fans might be unhappy with him and he may be looking for a change of scenery

I just think it’s comparable to the Calipari situation. Both parties wanting something new. I’m not in the weeds on that kinda stuff tho so we’ll see. Any shot they extend Pierce?

I think there’s always a shot. If they keep him they have to add a year so recruiting doesn’t suffer and kids don’t transfer. If they do that, they won’t give him a raise, and they won’t guarantee the year I bet. So then, Pierce will have to decide if he wants to look around for something else or stay and take the insult

How would yall map out a 3 game pitching rotation w/ BP?

SAT: Prager - Ash
SUN: Sdao - Cortez [possible Ash if there is a chance to end the super and didn't pitch too much Friday]
MON: Rudis - Lapkin/Tanner/Stewart/Moss (whoever is a good match or pitching well) - Ash

That would be my guess watching the pitching the last few weeks, and the rotations.

Grayson Grinsell (LHP): 75.1 IP, 3.82 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 11.59 SO/9, 5.02 BB/9, 2.31 SO-BB

Ryan Featherston (RHP): 40.0 IP, 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 9.22 SO/9, 3.60 BB/9, 2.56 SO-BB

--
Bradley Mullan (LHP): 38.0 IP, 1.66 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 7.82 SO/9, 5.21 BB/9, 1.50 SO-BB
Iam Umlandy (LHP): 29.2 IP, 3.94 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 6.98 SO/9, 3.03 BB/9, 2.30 SO-BB

The 2 lefties didn't throw in the regional, but their stats look noteworthy enough to include them.

At first blush, I see a lot of good not great. These #s aren't exactly jumping off the page especially when you factor in they play in a more pitcher-friendly environment. They do a solid job of limiting hits (13th), but issue too many walks (127th) & are just good at getting Ks (58th).

Prager & Sdao should both give us an edge in SP game 1 and 2. On paper, I'd take Asch, Cortez, & Rudis over their top relievers.

Top 6 Hitters
Mason Neville (LHH, RF - leadoff) .254 BA, .355 OBP, .669 SLG, 1.024 OPS, 16 HR, 34.3 K%, 13.6 BB% - traditional slugger to open the game.
Maddox Molony (RHH, SS - 6/7 hole) .333 BA, .423 OBP, .600 SLG, 1.023 OPS, 10 HR, 16.6 K%, 8.3 BB% - on paper, their best offensive player... why isn't the freshman batting higher?
Jacob Walsh (LHH, 1B - 3 hole) .264 BA, .357 OBP, .568 SLG, .925 OPS, 18 HR. 26.0 K%, 11.6 BB% - another traditional slugger, too much K, not much avg.
Bryce Boettcher (RHH, CF - 9 hole) .277 BA, .373 OBP, .511 SLG, .884 OPS, 12 HR, 18.8 K%, 8.9 BB% - speedy CF who has a little bit of pop.
Jason Cassella (RHH, DH/C - later in the order) .252 BA, .401 OBP, .463 SLG, .865 OPS, 7 HR, 21.5 K%, 15.8 BB% - gunna make you throw strikes
Chase Meggers (LHH, C/DH - 2 hole) .315 BA, .395 OBP, .462 SLG, .857 OPS, 4 HR, 13.5 K%, 7.1 BB% - solid contact hitter

Their standout hitters don't exactly stand out too much when compared to us. Their lineup construction is slightly confusing too. I am mildly shocked they rank as highly as they do in HR (44th). The rest are less good. 137th in BA, 162nd in OBP, and 71st in SLG. Be careful not to let them jump out to a 1-0 lead, but we've had to deal with way tougher and deeper lineups than this (UGA, UofSC, Bama, Lsu, & UF)

--

As a team, their biggest wins all came in the regional plus 1 series vs Arizona. During the season, they lost a series to UCSB, Stanford, & OSU. Even after regionals, they only have 14 Q1+Q2 wins.

I don't want to sound arrogant, but we should have an edge across the board. They don't have any top prospects expected to be drafted early. They don't hit for avg, power, or get on base like we do. They don't strike guys out or prevent baserunners. They don't have some special edge like crazy speed on the bases. They don't suck by any means and anything can happen in baseball more so than other sports. We should be talking about Omaha in 4 days.

At this time of year it's all about how a team has the ability to get hot or go cold. Nothing is a slam dunk

Stats-wise this regional should be a slam dunk
