btw, I had a little AM radio in my room and used to get sent to bed and stealthily listened to the Stros on it. Back before cable tv and indoor plumbing. I think my parents still have that AM only radio.

yeah, I'm not that worried about this game. I'd like to see see some other guys get work.

Forgot that it was that late. I was in Chicago in those days. Milo was a protege of Harry Caray, calling Cubs games. Gene was audio velvet, and Milo became Harry on roids.
BTW, the old White Sox combo of Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall was off the grid. Piersall was off the grid, by his own admission. Serious Budweiser was consumed by both. By the 7th inning, unbelievable things would be said on the radio.

I didn’t realize you were that ancient, Gramps.

I hate that damn bunt call there.

Here’s ancient: in elementary school in the 60’s, we would bring transistor radios during the World Series, with an ear plug, and teachers allowed us to listen to the games. That’s called America.

Was that before they have lights in stadiums so they had to play it during the day.

reminds me of a story my grandfather used to tell me. He had an internship in college where he worked in a building that overlooked Buff Stadium. His job was to do play by play for the office using a bullhorn. Apparently it was to keep everyone from watching the game instead of working.
ETA: looking at it now and knowing the dates, I dont think it was Buff Stadium (which wasn't built til 1928). Whatever was before that I guess.

Is it just me or does Blue give their pitcher a bigger zone. Those low and or away (for lefties) pitches are not being called both ways.

This is insanely frustrating. I say that after spending the day with 4 2-7 year olds at the zoo.

I'll say I really like the cut of Lacy's jib

He's been a bright spot for sure.

I need more booze, but don't dare leave the longest game in Texas A&M history. Poor planning on my part.

How do you not have booze in the house? I have a bunker of bourbon and several beers, bottles of wine, and a few other liquors and liqueurs.

My problem with booze in the house is it becomes drunken booze with the quickness. Thought I had plenty. Wasn't counting on 17 innings!
