Why do y'all let Hamm do this to you?
because in all honesty his shite isn't as bad as people want to believe. He's a douche and continues to put himself in shitty situations, but generally the news you get from him is alright. Is he right 100% of the time? No. But no one is.

Hamm's information isn't THAT bad, it's all relative for us since our recruiting guys are terrible. He just acts like a douche and is creepy with high school kids

Stidham was interested coming out of high school and I know Tech fans did some pretty heinous shite when he decommitted, so it's not that unbelievable. I'm not getting my hopes up but was just trying to generate discussion

Mond committed to Baylor when Stidham was there so it may not matter

That defense in 2017 though, woof

Is it really that bad?

Yes, we lose Myles Garrett and Daeshon Hall on the defensive line and Justin Evans (likely Armani Watts as well) in the secondary.

Here's what we retain:

Seniors: Qualen Cunningham, Jarrett Johnson, Zaycovan Henderson, Josh Walker, Priest Willis, Nick Harvey, Donovan Wilson, Noel Ellis, Victor Davis, Jordan Mastrogiovanni

Juniors: Daylon Mack, Richard Moore, Justin Dunning, Dwaine Thomas, Deshawn Capers-Smith, Riley Garner, Otaro Alaka, Landis Durham, Kingsley Keke, James Lockhart

Sophomores: Larry Pryor, Ikenna Okeke, Charles Oliver, Travon Fuller, Tyrel Dotson, Roney Elam, Justin Madubuike

Freshmen: Clifford Chattman

Donovan Wilson could easily be gone too. A lot of people will need to step up to fill in the gaps and there is not much depth outside the secondary

We beat out LSU, OU, ND, UCLA, and Arky for Mastro and now we have him as a walk-on.

Hamm really seems to think we are going to get stidham. All day he has basically said we are probably getting him if we want him

Setting up the Chernobyl melt if we don't, because everyone will read that as we passed. Classic Hamm

Ehh... I dunno, I don't think anyone will melt. Landing the Stidham 2017 transfer, for us, is akin to a hail mary or winning the lottery. It's really sweet if you complete it/hit the jackpot, but only nuts expect it to happen and get upset if it doesn't. Stidham would be a really sweet karmic bonus, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. Based on how much we know our staff liked Stidahm the first time around, I don't think many would read it as a pass unless there is really solid info that we legitimately passed. Most likely, if we don't land him, it's because he's still mad about how it went down the first time, in which case my money is on him landing at LSU or Auburn, and not because we weren't interested.

I think that's the point he's trying to make. The way Hamm appears to be painting the situation has the potential to make things much worse if he doesn't end up at A&M

No, it's not. He was making the case that now that Hamm has played-up the possibility of getting Stidham that everyone was going to freak out on Sumlin if he doesn't land him. I don't think that's the case, because I think our fans (properly) view it as a hail mary and won't hold it against Sumlin if it doesn't happen.

You can disagree with me on how our fans might react, but that's absolutely the point I am trying to make

I can think of at least one person whose name rhymes w/Dodger Marvin who will go probably nuclear on Sumlin over it
